Hope, somebody can help me out here

I have added a second VOIP Service, but maybe I miss the Basics:

the right additional Hardware

a Headset alone does not change much the Quality dúring my Calls

recently, I met a fellow German, who is using VOIP in regular Landline Quality even for national and international Calls

he is using a "Fritzbox"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FRITZ!Box

is there anything similar here in Thailand available?

as I live in Patttaya - aynthing in TCom available?

Thanks for any Help

Linksys have VoIP gateways with an FX0 port that should be available most places. If thats not what your looking for why not just add a SIP client to you smartphone?

Can you share any details?

You have two separate VoIP service providers?

You have reasonably reliably higher-speed internet access here in Thailand? Which service provider are you using? DSL? DOCSIS?

What VoIP hardware or software are you using currently?

Most ATA (Analog Telephone Adapter) can support multiple VoIP providers. The Linksys PAP2 is generally available here. There may be newer ATA's and even integrated ADSL Modem/Ehternet Router/WiFI with VoIP units available here.

Maybe just go to TCom and walk around?

If you can get one, the Fritzbox is the way to go.

Definitely the best choice for VOIP.

I use a 7270V3 and a 7270V2 (eventually for sale) here in TH for years with my different VOIP accounts (mainly Sipgate), and the Voice-Quality is absolutely superior.

When I ring my bank or friends in Germany, they always ask me, "ohh you're back in Germany?"

And it's quite easy to use a generic DECT phone with them, because they have an integrated DECT hub.

Great hardware

I'm using the Siemens S685 IP phone. I never experienced such a perfect VoIP quality with other devices. People can't believe that I'm 7000 miles away, when I call them.

I forgot to mention, there is a shop at Pantip Plaza (first floor), which sells Fritzboxen.

Not sure which model, but all FB have the VOIP part integrated.

And many other goodies, like a media-server.
