Red Baron just put two of them up for sale on their site yesterday for 710K each- very strange as the officially imported one available through Kawasaki Thailand is not only cheaper but is full power and comes with a factory warranty- are there any differences (except colors and graphics) I'm not aware of?

Maybe that's it, but the ad references the Z1000SX model number- I can't read the rest of the description.

Yeah you know it is confusing because I think the z1000sx is a Thai only deal

The Red Baron bike is definitely not a ZX10r Ninja

Yet does look a little different than the normal z1000

hmmmm dunno smile.png

Notice the little vents? different than the white pic I posted above

Lack of fork protectors etc.

Maybe a sportier z1000?

Yet not one of these

kawasaki-ninja-zx10r-2013.jpg

A quick search showed there are a couple significant differences, but the power plant is the same- for the money, I'd take the Z1000.

Ninja1000 is basically the faired version of the z1000.

^

It's a bit more than that, apparently- different gearing, different fuel tanks, etc- I'm not familiar with the Ninja 1000 at all- it looks like a nice bike, though.

Kawasaki needs to get some Italians working in their styling department to clean up that mess.

I'd imagine those that paid 660k recently are going to be pretty p1ssed off!

Didn't the Ducati Diavel go from something like 1.2m to 800k when it begun being manufactured here?

That's depreciation. :D

and the cost of registration is...

Bangkok and kawasaki th still show them at 660k....It wouldnt surprise me if they stop importing them after the z800 is released.

and the cost of registration is...

Are you trying to tell us it's 110k? :D

Looks like RealSports has it now listed on their price list as 550k also

I am thinking this is not a sale but the new price at least for this 2013 model

That's a lot of bike for 550K in Thailand.

Yes in Thailand I guess it is.

But In the USA it still retails new 2013 for 342k baht or 11k USD + you can get amazing

discounts/deals from that price still

342k. *sigh*

So presumably at 660k in Thailand there was at least over 50%, 330k baht in tax alone. And now more than 200k in taxes, at their discount price.

Yep i just saw that at Real

Kawasaki Thailand must be giving up with importing the Z1000 and making way for the Z800.

I'd be a bit pissed off if I'd recently paid 660K just to see the price slashed to 550K. Thats a bloody good deal for Thailand especially when a Triumph Speed Triple R is 1.120,000 THB and even a Street Triple R is 750,000 THB. Unfortunately poor old Normski will be consoling himself with an ice coffee and a slice of cake (possibly with brandy in it).

Thats what my guess is whats here is gonna be the end....

Pretty tempting price, really, considering the Z1000 is lighter and more powerful than the Z800, and in addition is made in Japan, traditionally much better quality than made here bikes.

If it wasn't such a stupid bike... :P

I dont know how accurate but Hiro Motopic on FB is usually 100%
Anyway from what I can tell he is saying the z1000 sale was to shock? but clear stock & this is what is arriving
I think he said arrive August & deliver Sept?

This is the 800 right? Or is it a new z1000?

Thats not a 3gen z1000 as different signals.

Mityon also said once sold no more z1000s

I am hoping I am wrong but it would appear, from reading between the lines, that the Z800 is to be priced ridiculously close to the old price of the Z1000.

Which probably means Kawasaki have done what all corporate c0ck suckers have done in the past and will continue to do in the future, and that's screw the consumer for corporate greed.

where are these lines? I guess if it comes in at 430k which is my estimate then its 120k less then the z1k price of today but 230k less then last months z1k price

I think if they do it at that they would have a good seller.

Many of the Monster buyers might go that route instead & there are quite a few of them

I wish I had copied it but recently a Thai site gave all the stats for the 2nd

half of last year & first half of this year & the ER650 was the runaway big seller

but monsters was 2nd which was kind of surprising to me.

Also at 430k the 650 buyers might pony up the extra since the 650 is getting close to 300k these days
