Two children. Both have Thai and UK passports

Only one been to the UK...with father mother..left on both passports. Immigration just wanted Birth Cerificate to validate Thai passport. Mother one channel, child and me the other. No problem.

Now I need to go to the UK with the other child, who has been to Malaysia but otherwise never left LOS...do I need anything more than the Birth Certificate and the 2 Passports?

As the child has a UK passport then you should not have any problems.

However, as you are travelling without the child's mother then it may be an idea to have a letter from her confirming that everything is ok. This is just in case Thai/UK immigration worry that you may be taking the child out of Thailand permanently without the mother's knowledge or permission.

Yes that is precisely the point! Does anyone have any experience of this recently. I have been to the UK with the elder child twice on our own without letters or problems but my mate did have such a problem...it is likely a question of chance...or not?? Or has something changed,,Spate of abductions,,or whatever??

I mean I do have such a letter...but anything else!?

GU22 has a good point. The birth certificate would show that you are the child’s father. However, if you are not traveling with the child’s mother, then it's possible that you could be separated from the mother and are trying to abduct the child. So, having the mother's written consent is good.
