Would suggest you visit the Immi site....they have the info you need. :o

Radar,

First let me state that I have no first hand knowledge on sponsoring a family member so don't take anything that I suggest as fact.

I think that you would need to make a decision as to whether you want to sponsor your brother-in-law as a skilled worker or as a family member.

From what you have stated in your post, he doesn't fall into the skilled worker category.

There are fairly strict guidelines associated with sponsoring a skilled worker so I imagine it would be difficult to bring him out here as a worker and then try to obtain permanent residency for him.

He may fall into the "Remaining Relative" category.

You can read about it here: http://www.immi.gov.au/migration/family/others/index.htm

You would need to sponsor him so you should read the requirements of being a sponsor.

Take a look at Form 40. "Sponsorship for Migrating to Australia."

I'm sorry that I can assist you further.
