I'm happy with my body apart from the knee down! I jog, cycle but can not build up my calves.

Any advice would be appreciated! Is it possible to be stuck with genetically disproportionate calves or is it fixable?

Regards

I have a little of the same ...

The 'Standing Calf Raise' is one of the easiest as no equipment is used ... just your body weight.

Maybe find a door archway for two things ... balance and support when you do the exercise and ...

... and sometimes they have a some wood or something in the archway or door jam which allows you have the whole motion as shown above.

I'll start with 8 double leg raises and then try your whole body weight on one leg.

If you can get to eight ... you are doing well.

I know that there is no science in this observation but ... I used to be a prop in Rugby League, so fairly stout, normal muscular development.

Ran the 1/2 marathon twice, maybe 10 years after finished playing League and while the upper leg muscles stayed toned, the calfs seemed to waste, or diminish in size ... huh.png

I never weight-trained for league, so it wasn't that.

... but I digress into talking about me and not your OP.

The exercise above I believe is the most simple and I achieve good results with it.

Door Jam for balance and support and if a flat floor, maybe a piece of wood under the balls of your feet, 3 or 4 cms thick does the trick.
