Workers Flee as Fire Engulfs Auto Parts Warehouse in Suphan Buri
A fire broke out at an auto parts warehouse in Dan Chang District, Suphan Buri, on the morning of November 22, causing chaos as workers scrambled to escape. The blaze, which began at approximately 10:30, prompted the deployment of multiple fire trucks to contain the flames. Pol. Col. Thatthep Lertlakmeepan, Superintendent of Dan Chang Police Station, and Pol. Capt. Rangsarn Lomtaisong, an investigator, confirmed receiving reports of the fire at a warehouse located on Soi 6, Dan Chang Market. Thick black smoke could be seen billowing into the sky, drawing the attention of local authorities and fire response teams, including personnel from Dan Chang Subdistrict Municipality and the Samo-Kan Rescue Foundation. Firefighters reported that one male worker suffered minor burns during the incident and was promptly transported to Dan Chang Hospital for medical treatment. Witnesses stated that approximately 10 workers were inside the warehouse when the fire erupted. Despite their efforts to extinguish the flames using fire extinguishers, the blaze spread rapidly, forcing them to flee for their lives. Firefighters battled the inferno for over two hour before managing to bring it under partial control. However, flare-ups continued due to the structural collapse of the warehouse roof, which hindered efforts to access and extinguish the fire inside. Crews remained on-site, using water hose-lines to prevent the flames from reigniting. A significant portion of the warehouse’s inventory, including auto and motorcycle parts, was destroyed in the fire. The exact cause of the blaze is still under investigation, with authorities questioning witnesses and awaiting forensic evidence. Officials will assess the total damages once the fire is completely extinguished and full access can be gained to all areas. Picture and video from responders. -- 2024-11-23 My Movie.mp4 -
