I get called Tuk Tuk and Taxi a lot when I walk down the street.

And you a Thai girl?

Boom. That is a real name.

A ladies name? Just curious as the only time I have encountered it is as the nickname

of a friend's son.

Yep a friend of my wife is called it although she writes in incorrectly in English as Bum.

These are all nicknames that their parents give them as well as the real name. The nicknames aren't male or female.

Edit: I'd better put most incase some actually are.

Thanks for the reply K. a. I have another aquaintance who named his sons Beer and Wine. As I realize the nicknames are given for a variety of reasons, this particular case left me wondering and ... smiling at the possibilities rolleyes.gif

I had a gf named Tom...everytime she made a phone call to people she did,nt know i heard her explaining she,s not a tom,

I had friend whose named was Pui and then she had a daughter nick named Prissy. But with her accent it came out Pissy.

So when I would see them I would say "Hey it's Pui and Pissy!"
