Bullshit she is eating Bt.20,000 per week.

Even in the most expensive countries in Europe spending app.EURO 500 purely for food is practically impossible, unless, of course, one feeds oneself with caviar, smoked salmon and fillet steak. Few people do this, as far as I know...

I went to a thai wedding last year and sat on a table with 6 thai girls. We all had a nice dinner. The reception was over quickly as the bride and groom had limited funds for the wedding. We then went to a bar to play pool. The girls then ordered more food to my surprise. Then we went to a club for an hour or 2 and started walking back to the car around midnight. The girls saw a restaurant and of course had to stop for a meal. I was thinking to myself why not just wait until breakfast. Its not that far away. I think that some thais eat for the sake of it... a cultural thing?

not only thai getting bigger, farangs are getting bigger too. havent been to farang land for a long time and now i just stand and gawk at some of the young gigantic farang on holiday here. totally stunned.

What or where is "farang land"? (But I must say that you're a badass for not having been there in a long time.)

farang land these days is central chiang mai. but there is that other farang land too that i currently dont go to, but your pointing your badass finger in the wrong direction. try pointing it at those rip-off, scamming, cheating airlines and you would be right. not going anywhere till that changes. not holding my breath till then either. not to mention those triple backward summersault requirements for a one day tourist visa countries too. nope just aint going,

The average Thai lives on a food budget of about 100 Baht a day, ...

And just, pray tell, did you come up with the little stunner of a generalisation?

The 'average Thai' ... rolleyes.gif

From the same pool of farang experts of all things Thai that wants to believe that the average Thai lives in a THB 2000/m room, drives a motcy and eats leaves from the side of the road and are happy with their lot in life...tongue.png

of course this is what some farangs want to believe cos it makes them feel a sense of superiority over the natives...

Give her 300 baht day "generous"

not enough , "on yer bike"

next please ...

jeez..if you beleive THB 300/day is generous...i would seriously looking at your monthly budget for living in Thailand, of course this may be ok if all you live on is mama noodles, drink rain water off your roof and wash your under pants once week, steal the toilet paper from the shopping malls where you go to sit with a single chang in the food court all day for the aircon...

Constipation

Gas and stomach bloating

Fatigue, tiredness, depression and a lack of concentration.

Nervousness, anxiety and restlessness.

Based on these symptoms I estimate greater than 80% of TV posters have worms then...giggle.gif

Might be not far from reality.

This is not a joke!

Worms are so very common in tropical areas, foreigners hardly realize.

Six years ago in India Anemia was diagnosed with me. Worms! I did not realize before until regularly tired quickly. Recovery took more than one month!

Just now a few days before our dog showed a worm about eight centimeters long and two millimeters thick.

Vet gave her a shot, and we swallowed a dose ALBENDAZOLE. Not take any risk.

Correction 2,000 baht a week in Thailand 20,000 baht a week in U.K.

Over £400 per week in the UK?

That's over 6 times the London average (£60) for all groceries for two people! (Source)

Sorry, but even allowing for some more expensive items bought in a specialist Thai/Asian shop, that's way too much to be believable.

Unless you both eat out every meal!

i'll report you for stalking if you keep following me around like that all day. and you need to get your eyes checked, it was actually a green "Sponsor" not a chang.

I took my missus (she who eats anything that crawls, flies, swims or slithers) to Australia earlier this year for 3 months and she actually lost weight, claims she could not find the type of food she likes. I did warn her that our local Woolworths did not stock scorpions, pla-lah, ant's eggs or insects.

Different story when we are at home in Chiang Mai. I swear if she was sound asleep (in between meals) and I waved a chicken wing under her nose, her teeth would start gnashing like a Tasmanian Devil.

Would give the op's wife a run for her money.

The OP doesnt believe it either..if you had taken the time to read the whole thread before jumping in with your words of wisdom and all knowingness of all matter Thai, you will see that the OP had a typo while he was pished and THB 20,000 should have in fact read THB 2000...whistling.gif

BTW welcome to TV..hope you have got a thick skin, are not a red apologist and you are at one with your Thainess...

PS please dont encourge the the resident cheap charlies with a I can spend less than you thread, been done to death...thumbsup.gif

Two things here that can help, only if she wants to cooperate that is:

1) Get her checked at the clinic for wormes in the gut (I am not kidding, its very common here especially from uncooked meet and seafoods!

2) If she is grossly over weight... get her to go for a gastric bypass opp.

Two questions: Is she obese (too big)? and does she see her eating so much as a problem?

Also if she really does want to eat so much and cant stop, get her to eat more rice to fill up and cut your costs. also dont keep the fridge stocked up so much, or only stock the fridge with your farang food that she wont eat such as stilton cheese etc...

Have you considered this to be a sycological problem?

Actually I have just gone through the past threads and notive the correction from 20,000 Baht to 2,000 Baht!!!!!

Wow thats cheap...! I have nothing to say except "WOW THATS CHEAP"
