Hi, sorry if this question is in the wrong "place".

I believe I have exhausted every avenue now on what kind of visa I can get (as well as exhausted myself) my partner works here so he's never had a problem with his visa.

So my partner and I (both British) have decided to do the dirty deed and get married ?

I've been looking at different legal firms to help us with all of this as we will need to get legally married, then get a non-imm o visa for me as his dependent.

Does anyone have any experience with using firms such as siam legal or interactive? Or any others for that matter?

I would like to know which one is "best" in terms of service...we want this whole process to go as quickly and smoothly as possible.

Any info about any of this will also be helpful...will I still have to leave the country when I get this visa? How long can I get? Etc

Thanks ?

If your husband has a 12 month extension from Immigration in Thailand you can get the same 12 month extension as his dependant.

Quite simple to do. You need a Non Imm O Visa to start with.

You will then have to report to Immigration every 90 days the same as he does.

To get married you both will need an affirmation of permit to marry from the embassy.

Info here: https://www.gov.uk/notarial-and-documentary-services-guide-for-thailand

Then have them translated to Thai and certified at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The translation service can do the MFA certification for a small fee.

Then a trip to an Amphoe or Khet to register your marriage. You will need 2 witneses and I suggest one them be able to act as a translator for you.

I don't think you will need any legal help for this.

After marriage if the one who is going to get the dependent extension will need to go to a nearby embassy or consulate to get a single entry non-o visa showing marriage certificate and copy of passport of the one sponsoring the dependent showing their extension of stay.

Then they apply for their extension of stay at immigration during the last 30 days of their visa entry.

The advice in the above post is sound. There is no need to pay any legal service a huge fee to tell you the same thing!
