Noticed that Air Asia has started selling direct online booking of internal flights on http://www.visitmm.com - click on the "Flights" panel

Pretty good prices, better than the quotes I have been getting from travel agents, and most importantly these guys take online credit card and paypal payments

I booked flights to Bagan, will do a report later. Destinations at the moment seem to be

Yangon

Naypyitaw

Chiang Mai

Sittwe

Nyaung-U

Heho

Thandwe

Tachileik

Myitkyina

Dawei

Myeik

Kawthaung

Lashio

Monywa

Homalin

Bhamo

A trip report would be wonderful! I'm trying to get over there late November/early December for a few weeks. Can't wait!

Thanks for posting the link.

It is not Air Asia though, just to clarify for anyone else who might be confused by this.

It is for local Myanmar airline Asian Wings Airways (airline code YJ) - one of Tay Za's companies, for those that like to keep up date with their cronies

Fleet is good, several ATR72-500's. I know some of their Burmese operations staff, who say that it is well run.

We're going to be spoiled for choice in Myanmar airlines before too long - another 4 airlines on the way.

I wonder how Myanmar authority will handle those air congestion. I took a flight from SG to Yangon and had to spend good extra 10mins on air bcaz of traffic congestion.

Sorry that's correct, visitmm.com is Asian Wings, thanks SeaVisionBurma. Just read today that half of Asian Wings was sold to All Nippon Airways, so they should be well positioned to keep that fleet modern and expand routes.

CP3 there is a new international airport being built in north of Yangon near Bago, should be a lot more capacity in a few years
