Does anyone know if there is an audiology clinic in Bangkok, or a clinic where they can do testing for dizziness/balance issues?

In my Google searches so far I have only been able to find one audiologist in Bangkok, who works at the Bangkok Hospital. So that is where I plan on going now, unless I can locate a more specialized clinic.

Any experiences with Bangkok Hospital from board members, good or bad?

Thanks.

Dedicated clinic, no, you will have to go to a general hospital ENT department.

Are you sure you mean an audiologist and not an ENT specialist specializing in disturbances of equilibrium/balance? Audiologists are non-physicians and conduct tests of hearing function.

The following doctor specializes in this type of problem and has been favorably recommended by other TV members. She is at Bumrungrad, which also has an audiologist on staff if hearing test is required.

Name: Dr. Saowaros Asawavichianginda
Specialty: Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose:Throat)
Language: Spoken: English,Thai
Qualifications: Medical School:
- M.D., Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, Thailand, 1985
Board Certifications:
- Diploma of The Thai Board of Otolaryngology, 1991
Associated Professor, Chulalongkorn University, Department of Otolaryngology, Thailand
Fellowships:
- Neuro-otology, University of Toronto, Canada, 1994-5
Special Clinical Trainings:
- Vertigo & Balance Disorder, Hearing Disorder and Ear Surgery
Special Clinical Interests:
- Vertigo, Physical and Surgical Therapy for Vertigo, Early Hearing Detection Program and Tinnitus

No specialized clinics and audiologists are few and far between.

There are 2 at St Louis Hospital, and also one or two at Bumrungrad

Thanks Sheryl. Great information. Now I know of at least two options in Bangkok.

The doctor I found out about who works at Bangkok Hospital is Dr. Suchitra Prasansuk. Apparently speaks perfect English and has a lot of training in balance related disorders.

Sounds like both this doctor and the one you suggest are knowledgeable in this field and could be helpful to anyone suffering from vertigo.

I read that there is no option to make an appointment with Dr. Saowaros Asawavichianginda. You have to go to the hospital, take a number, and they call you back later when there is an opening.

I don't know if this same system obtains at Bangkok Hospital.

If I am able to make an appointment in advance with the doctor at Bangkok Hospital, I may start there first.
