Koh Lipe is one of the most beautiful islands at the Tarutao Marine Park in Satun and is considered one of Thailand's Hidden Gem. This small island sits at the Southern most part of the marine park and the name Ko Lipe (pronounced Lee Pay) comes from the local sea gypsy name which means Paper Island. Ko Lipe is also known as the Maldives of Thailand. Here's a video from my trip to the area..

Have you ever been to the Maldives.? The water there was always over 150 feet clear and the sea full of fish,

Koh Lipe is nice compared to most other islands in Thailand but does not compare with the Maldives

@GO2DBEACH:

Wauw; what a stunning place, alright ! - Thank you so much for sharing this; been in Thailand 21 years and had NO idea about this ! ! - I live in Jomtien, and my second love in life is sailing. This place might just make a super-destination one day.

Oh; and please don;t be put-off by some of the Posters here who enjoy 'splitting-hairs' over your comparison to the Maldives, my friend; people who respond like that are often people who never venture out anywhere: just enjoy cutting others down with their total lack of life-experiences . . . . just laugh it off !

I am grateful for your little piece and the vdo !

Thank you for your responces. I didn't make any comparison to the Maldives. If you google 'Koh Lipe', you'll find out that it is very often called the " Maldives of Thailand ". I guess that's because of the colour of the water..I haven't been to the Maldives though.

Koh Lipe underwater was a heaven, with rich coral reefs, plenty fish life and great visibility,. And it was low season when i was there, so i guess in high season it will be a paradise!

The island is tiny with four beaches connected by sand paths. Here it is seen from the Adang island just a few minutes by longtail boat:
