This is my first post on the fitba forum and apologizes if my question has been covered before.

How do all you fans think about impact of the World cup in Thailand considering the 10 hrs time difference, do you see bars, hotels etc staying open for some of the games i am thinking about the popular tourist resorts etc i have some friends thinking they might come at that time.

I think the old bill will be too busy watching the games in bars to close them down. Plus they have the bets to collect and pay out.

What <deleted> planet do these people live on?? Surely everyone knows that the Arab kingdoms treat their workers like $hit. You only have to stop off in one of the desert sheds on a flight to work that out.

You're not wrong. They usually have their passports taken off them and are made to work at least 6 days a week for a pittance. They're lucky if they're allowed to go home before two years is up. Often they live on compounds that are more like concentration camps, and fed shit, and deductions are made from their salaries to pay for both.

Arabs treat Asian labourers like animals.

Agree with Chicoq. They are treated like that but they still earn more than back in their home countries and send a lot of money back home. Domestic staff seem to be the ones who are hardest done by in the main, especially the ones hired by private families.

As an aside. My company also hold my passport, which I exchange for my Iqama when I'm leaving on business or on holiday. If you are resident and hold an Iqama, to leave here you need an exit re-entry visa (single or multi) which the company sort out for you. Also, employment law here is that on termination of your employment and on a exit only visa, the company have to pay you x amount (think it's 3) of weeks salary for every year you have worked, which is a bit like redundancy payment in the UK. However, they still have to pay this even if you resign.

Qatar won a bid to host a SUMMER world cup. Surely if this cannot be delivered, for whatever reasons, that bid is clearly null and void. The world cup should now be awarded, by default, to one of the unsuccessful bidders who can deliver. Preferably Australia. Extremely unlikely to happen of course, too many interested parties would be exposed for the greedy corrupt people they are. FIFA / Blatter are rotten to the core.
