I agree with LeC here.

As in the West, I believe most gay men in Thailand are not "camp" or effeminate. They are just "people next door", you wouldn't know they are gay unless you see them with guys, or they told you.

I am not aware of a study in Thailand equivalent to Martin Dannecker's studies in Germany in 1974, or the Kinsey Reports, but my own sampling in Thailand seems to support that.

We tend to notice camp guys. We tend to not notice those who aren't camp.

Most of the gay people I know are not camp, but many of the non-camp group I didn't know they were gay for a long time.
