Why do I care? A few people here have questioned why I am so actively against Why do I care? A few people here have questioned why I am so concerned over Israel's warmongering. One commenter even compared me to a blowfly over Israel. Remember that blowflies feed on corpses. What we are seeing in Israel is a society built on hatred, where 93% of Israelis support attacking Iran first. Violence is unquestionably the wrong way to solve problems, both on disagreements between nations and disagreements between people. I’m immensely sad for the people of Israel who have been brainwashed by decades of wars. They never deserved this from their successive elected governments from Ben-Gurion. These democratically-elected leaders have gone from bad to worse. To whit, Bibi Netanyahu, whose own son even calls his actions the N- word. But I’m also sad for the Gazans who have lost everything, the West Bank natives who are being displaced with violence, by settlers and by the Israeli police and IDF soldiers, the Iranians, yes, even soldiers, and the Lebanese. All these people have suffered immense personal loss by Israel’s actions. Let’s look at this logically. Israel says, “human shields” such as hospitals and schools. How many of these were actually proven to be true, by either side? Yeah, I'd like to see a list. Hamas? Their leadership is hiding in Qatar. Why isn’t Israel similarly attacking Qatar? Money. Israel has trade with Qatar. Israel says, “Hezbollah” in Lebanon. Sure. Cannot be denied. However, instead of a ground action to actually find and target Hezbollah’s militants, Israel bombs the <deleted> out of civilian villages. Tells the residents with 24-hour warning, they must “evacuate”, leave their homes, leave their lives behind.. If they remain, they are considered “terrorists” meaning, of course, they will be murdered by IDF forces. How would this sit with you. Having to leave your home because another country is bombing your country? And Iran. They also harbour Hezbollah militants and lob rockets into Israel. From 2024, the figures are 500 missiles and drones. Israel’s war on Iran sure straightened them out. Now Israelis are running into bomb shelters. Good work! Mission accomplished. There’s something wrong with this picture. Both Israel and America are warmonger nations, pure and simple. Grab onto any excuse you can name and call it defence. I call bull<deleted>. The US bombing “drug boats” in the Caribbean, not seizing any “drugs”, leaving living sailors to perish in the water rather than rescuing them and bringing them to trial. I mean, that’s the rule of law Israel just kills foreign leaders not kidnaps them on Trumped-up charges where they will rot in prison for years…just like Noriega who was only charged for money not even drugs and was 25 years a prisoner. He died in prison, an elected leader of a sovereign nation. Why am I against the warring actions of Israel? Because I care. I’m Canadian. We have been well known since Lester Pearson in the Suex crisis (1956) as peacemakers, peacekeepers, negotiators, compromisers, conciliators. There needs to be more of that if we want a peaceful world. The UN is only ineffectual right now because our countries have made it non-functional, principally the world police and bullies on the Security Council. But it's what we've got in place now and it can work if we demand it of our countries. It's still the best defence we have against conflict and other outrageous crimes. I care because it’s my duty as a human being.
