belg Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 vitamine B3 (only) where to buy in Bangkok ? I only need B3, not the whole B family thanks for any good reply where to buy actually, no guesses like Boots or Watson or your local pharmacy as they only sell the mix B
Sheryl Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 What dosage are you seeking and for what purpose? If it is to treat elevated blood lipids, brand name Niaspan = 500 mg any large pharmacy. Or Nicotabs, which is 50 mg, ditto. By large pharmacy I mean one that primarily sells pharmaceuticals as opposed to cosmetics etc and is big in size and has a/c. Be sure to ask by the brand name mentioned as they may not respond to "B3". Niaspan and nicotabs are AFAIK the only preparations of pure nicotinic acid (niacin) in LOS. (Note the 10 fold dosage difference between them.)
fatfather Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 B3, Niacin is well delivered by beef or pork, over dosing is no really issue. How you recognised that you need an extra input? Fatfather Sent from my phone
uptheos Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 If you're a newcomer to Niacin take a small dose first, the 'flush' can be quite awful. Slow release is certainly the best way to take it.

Sheryl Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 There is research under way on possible use of niacin for depression but no conclusive evidence that it works as yet. There is, however, conclusive evidence that high doses of niacin can be toxic. Serious liver toxicity and even liver failure can result. Please do not do this without supervision by a doctor. At a minimum, get regular liver function tests, and be alert to the signs of toxicity. 1
fatfather Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 A lack of Niacin is known to be a factor for depression, but an overdose won't help. Depression has many reasons, B3 will not be the answer. Fatfather Sent from my phone
