CSM Cervical Spondylosis - New Treatment that works

Featured Replies

Surgical decompression that is 'safe and works' from a new study conducted in Canada:

I would need to return to Canada for 6th months to get back into the health care system, then be referred by a doctor to this center in Toronto to be assessed whether or not this surgery would be effective. I have an MRI on film and CD, would anyone know if I could send this info there from an assessment here, to have them look at the MRI first, offer an answer which I could then make plans around? Or if this sort of surgical procedure will be available in Thailand, say by Dr. Wicharn at BNH.

I might take the article to Dr. Wicharn and ask him about it.

Please do not post links to lay media articles, thanks (because the media tends to distort things). I have edited your post to link to the actual article in a scientific journal.

This study does not concern any sort of new treatment. Rather, it evaluates the long-term efficacy of surgical intervention (using existing techniques, which are certainly available in Thailand).

It strengthens the case for surgical intervention in even mild spinal cord compression from cervical disc disease, that's all.

It does not discuss cervical spondylitis without cord compression.
