The guy is a brilliant writer

Writers write. They love to write.

Great writers often gravitate to the top. They get agents. They get published. They get the recognition they deserve.

Lesser writers write for magazines or newspapers. But sometimes they too get recognition. Sometimes they earn awards.

It's very hard to keep a good man down.

Good writers (and talented people in general) will understand what I mean.

Fools, on the other hand, will not understand.

I can only assume one of two things have happened here.

1. The Blether has submitted an 'Extension Of Stay' - which has been granted.

2. He has achieved enlightenment. After all that time to think, he has decided he does not need TV anymore.
