TCSD launches website for online crime reporting

BANGKOK, 16th October 2013 (NNT) – The Technology Crime Suppression Division (TCSD) has launched a new website to create a more convenient channel for the public to file a complaint.

According to the TCSD, technology and social media have nowadays become a great part of our daily lives. This has led to greater chances of the public becoming victims to crimes, including online monetary theft and face book. To help tackle the problems, the TCSD has hired Bangkok Web Solutions Co,.Ltd. to create a website on domain www.tcsd.in.th.

Instead of having traveling to a police station or making a phone call to file a complaint, people can now contact officers online. News and information will also be posted on the new website. Furthermore, this is only a pilot project. If it is successful, the Division will propose that it be adopted nationwide.

The TCSD is currently working on a TCSD mobile phone application for smart phones and androids, which is downloadable through App Store. The application will have similar contents to the online website, with an addition of GPS, which enables the public to locate the nearest police station.

Oh right:

1. Website not in English.

2. Website has broken links/not available.

3. Enquiries/reporting/ignored/not understood.

Forget it - just walk around the corner to the police station and report in person, then you only get (3) above, which could be considered an improvment.

That is Thai Standard for webpages....
