What would be helpful is some straight answers.

Visa on arrival................doesn't exist here

You still need to get a visa before you come. You only get one on arrival if you come with a tour, however they apply on your behalf. Don't think your arrival at Yangon international will see you welcomed into the country without a visa already in your passport. Please correct me if this is wrong information.

Border entry points: Kawtuang etc. Is this an entry point for a visa carrying tourist?? Maybe not. I have been going to Kawtuang for over 5years, they are not ready for this type of tourist. In the past (things could be done), today things are very different, personal have changed and this season could be very confusing for yachts going in. Kawtuang and other points have opened up (according to the government), so what does this mean.

Previously if you flew into an airport you had to leave by the same airport. Now with Yangon, Mandalay and NPT opening up internationally is this still the same.? And lets not talk about sea ports like Kawtaung.

Strangly arriving by boat into Kawtaung and leaving by the same boat there are few restrictions and no visahas ever been necessary.

Many questions in a not so clear county.

VOA - yes as you said. You need to have a pre-arranged one before you enter. Unless you'r getting a biz visa(which require you to produce inviting local company's papers)

You may now enter from border points and leave by any other international ports. Still you need to have a visa in your passport, then you can enter.

OP, you are presenting confusing and very much outdated information that is not useful for anyone.

It is very clear to anyone who reads this forum and many others online such as Lonely Planet's Thorntree that overland travel through 4 Thai border checkpoints is possible as is travel in by air and out by land, vice versa or into one airport and out through another as is the case in any other country. The Chinese-Myanmar border checkpoint of Muse-Ruili will allow this too by the end of the year or so. Some other restrictions remain in place, but Myanmar is finally opening up and quite fast I might add.

Myanmar embassies have posted the new rules, including the 4 overland checkpoints on their walls visible when you apply for your visa. I just passed from Myawaddy to Hpa-an, stayed one night in Myawaddy and then spent some time exploring the way between the border and Hpa-an (I'm here on business). Apart from having to show your passport at 2 checkpoints (this is not uncommon in other parts of Myanmar either) it was very straightforward and everyone knows the rules.

Just go with the flow and please help other tourists by not asking ridiculous questions. There is a search function where you could have found answers to your own questions rather than presenting mere speculation based on what happened 5 years ago. While I just get up and go, knowing the up-to-date rules without having to rely on internet forums, many other travellers do and I would like to present them with accurate information so they can be reassured everything is OK.

OP, yes in Myanmar things are sometimes not clear cut, but you started a new thread asking hypothetical questions that have already been answered in another thread on this very same forum. The fact that you can't even be bothered to read other threads means your new thread isn't really worth answering.

If you don't know how to find information on this forum, here: all the answers you need are in this thread:

Yes, I paid $55 for the VOA letter and $30 in cash at the airport... $55 is expensive but other travel agencies were asking more.
