I've just bought an used truck and hopefully it will never let me down. But just in case it does, is it possible to buy breakdown cover/roadassist/get you home type of policy? I can't seem to find any info on this. Any help will be appreciated.

In general, some insurances (Axa) offer roadside assistance. Several platinum credit cards offer that too. There is a catch though, when you read the fine print: in general it excludes vehicles with a weight above 1 ton... which would exclude most SUV or trucks.

Yes and there is a thing called Google translate, it isn't perfect but can give you a sense. The service is available though, I had it for a short time provided on a used car I bought at a dealership.

Yer, Google translate worked! No it isn't perfect....but it will do!

Hey it's not that bad baht wize. 1990 baht a year for the VIP membership.

The last year I was in Oz the RACV stung me $187.00 for the premium membership. Bout 3 times as much for not much more service.

Well glad to provide some assistance.. Yes, it is reasonable cost, partly why I recommended it..

Am i right in thinking that recovery/assistance is free on tolled express ways?

Not if you want your car back!

Thanks for all the advice. I'm going to try AXA and see where that leads.

Bear in mind the limitations on weight! Not over 1 ton for the roadside assistance...

AXA insurance comes with roadside assistance

True and they drop coverage when a vehicle gets "too old" in their opinion.

Very sensible seeing the number of wrecks there are on the roads

The CWC service can find you by tracking your cell phone location (haven't signed up yet but intend to do so on Monday) - seems like a huge advantage over the AXA service.

Not to mention cost and vehicle age. But hey! To each his own..
