thin vertical red line on laptop screen

Featured Replies

One has appeared recently on mine half way along the screen and goes from top to bottom. It's now there every time i turn it on. I can use all the programs fine. I was told in england recently that it's a graphics issue and would cost me 400 pounds.

Has anyone had this experience and had it fixed in thailand? How much can i expect to pay? Was i told the right thing in england, that it's a graphics issue?

Cheers for any info.

I have the same on a MacBook pro. Mine (coincidentally or not) appeared after update to Mountain Lion. After a while you don't notice it anymore.

Now need to make second attempt to revive the mac safe adapter. First attempt ended with the capacitor in it seriously shocking my finger (stays charged longer than I had anticipated)

I had this problem with my HP Laptop a while back. I had to replace the monitor (in the US). I cannot remember how much it cost.

The only way to get rid of it is to buy a new display screen. At 400 pounds you may as well buy a new laptop. If you are in Bangkok it should be easy enough to find a shop or the authorised agent for your brand which can replace your screen.
