X-rays Vs. Hard Disks, Ram, Motherboard

Featured Replies

I am moving to Thailand in a few weeks from now and decided to take along my hard disk drives only, also motherboard, RAM, and leave behind the rest of my pc.

I am worried about the drives and ram or motherboard getting zapped by x-rays at the airports.

Any recommendations please?

Penzman :o

When I came to Thailand two years ago, and when I flew to Australia last year, my notebook made many journeys through x-ray machines. I don't know enough to tell you if it has a motherboard, but it surely has a hard disk.

Zero problems. Put them in those blue coloured plastic bags. They are safe but it will make you feel better.

Thanks!

IT Man, would one of those blue colored plastic bags over my head ease my fear of flying? :o

It could... it would definitely make a few folks feel better about their arrival.

:-)

Xray no problem. just wrap the peices in some cloths and the non static bag. the shock of the stuff being tossed around would do more harm.

Anti-static bags for everything, then good packing for physical shock protection.

X-rays are no problem. My notebook has been through heaven knows how many x-ray machines with no problem at all.

I hope the disks do not have pirated s/w on them, or naughty photos of Thai ladies?

The customs at your desination might want to check!!
