Latex factories in Phuket.

Whats the deal? Am I missing out on the business venture of a lifetime? I see more and more of these giant factories springing up everywhere. Thousands of tour busses outside them and hot Russian women staffing them

Not sure, maybe the latex is sold as local product. Practical souvenir from Phuket?

Now when you mentioned, latex and hot Russian women, this is how I imagine how the shops looks like.

i always assumed they were money laundering places. how can one island the size of phuket support about 100 giant shops selling nothing but mattress toppers and something else? and even if the Russians on tour buses bought a mattress topper, how would they get it home?

I teach some of the Koreans at these outlets. Pretty amazing profit.

A king or queen sized mattress goes for 2kUS, cost is 8000 baht.

How do they take it home? <deleted> easy. They already come with air taken out. If they are not, they insert it in a bag, put a vacuum hose to it and suck the air out. Voilá! Shrunk to the size of a pillow. Heavy as can be, but shrunk, nevertheless.

And how do Koreans sell them? (No idea about the Russians).

Well, one 5 foot 2 Korean girl I teach Engrishee to told me the secret. coffee1.gif

There are bedroom mockups everywhere. Inside these bedrooms there are about 20 chairs (for couples only). Door is locked and she stands by the door to prevent them from leaving.

When a couple, on their honeymoon, says no, we will not buy, she confronts them. She fills them up with guilt. You don't want to buy for your old mother and father? You don't love your parents? Are you a good son to them? etc etc. Out comes the credit card!!!!! thumbsup.gif

I fell outta my chair when she told me this!!! cheesy.gif
