I have a friend that causes problems every time we go into a resturant for breakfast.

When we arrive after recieving a menu we both pick a set breakfast consisting of eggs, ham tomato and tea or coffee. Easy...

Not for my friend. He is very particular regarding the taste of his tea and has his shirt pocket full of his favourite tea bags.

The problem occurs when he asks for breakfast number one and a hot cup of water, the waitress brings the breakfast and the tea and a hot cup of water. Then the waitress rightlyfully adds a 20bht charge to the bin for the hot water. My friend will not except this, often getting angry refusing to pay the extra charge, and mainly leaving the resturant. I have to follow feeling very embarrased and more importantly very hungry (and thirsty) which to be very honest amazes me as he is no cheap charley. I have spoken to my friend and explained that the waitress dosent understand not to give you a tea just the hot water.

Would some kind person please write in Thai

"With my food I would like a cup of hot water - instead of the tea, please do not charge me for the hot water as i have paid for the tea"

I will then print this message off credit card size and plastic laminate.

Hopefully i will be able to then eat breakfast with my friend in peace.

Yes I agree completely. Do you think the Tourist police could help with this. Maybe if my friend was locked in a police cell cell for 24hours, it could put an end to this terrible behaviour. I think maybe a warning before deportation.
