I'm not really sure how it works but if I wanted my GF to come over for xmas when should we apply for the tourist visa?

When you apply for the visa can you specify when you want it to start from? Or does it start as soon as its been approved?

Hi Taz,

If you anticipate your g/f coming around Xmas, she might want to hold off applying for the visa until the beginning of December. Visas are normally valid from the date of issue, although you can ask for them to be post-dated by up to 90 days.
