Pisico, I have to go through this quite often, It's hard work sometimes isn't it? You publish a post about an incident that is perfectly true and easy to check and they demand proof. On the other hand, they spout of some rumour as the truth that you can't verify and therefore you ask them for proof and they get all upset.

Just out of interest the "other" paper has stated that there have now been 3 Police Officers attacked so far.

This one - an armed, out of uniform policeman wandering around in the protest area. Another injured at a separate protest - students at the UN building attacked riot police blocking them. No details of the third one.

Abhisit's idea of a General Election, all 146 votes? Dream on looser.

So what is your idea of the role of the Oppostion party in Parliament?

Posted

A censure motion in parliament is the correct way to address differences in a parliamentary democracy, and if successful can both lead to an election and change of government. In this case even if it were to lead to an election (not very likely) is very unlikely that it would lead to a change of government.

Abhisit's idea of a General Election, all 146 votes? Dream on looser.

Abhisit is a thoroughly decent bloke whose public image has been distorted and defamed by Thaksin-inspired lies and more. It was in Thaksin's interests to turn him into a hate figure. Very transparent to anyone who has the intelligence to understand this.

Would you accept that at the very least he has lied about a couple of significant events in his political career and that he has been guilty of bad (in some cases very bad) judgement calls resulting in unnecessary loss of life (not just in 2010)? To accept that would need intelligence to come into play and dare I say the consumption of a lot of humble pie by the most extreme of followers?

You keep clinging to this crap that Abhisit is responsible for those deaths.

The reds were burning down Bangkok on the encouragement of Thanksin the revolutionary.

The police stood idly by and did nothing but surrender their weapons over to the red rebels, who already had plenty.

Bangkok was in an almost state of anarchy. That is why the army were called in. Because the place was lawless. No other alternative is there?

The red rebels plus third party instigators then attacked the army murdering soldiers (these are trained in the rules of engagement) which means when you come under lethal attack, it is shoot to kill. That is standard in every country on earth.

No ones fault but the rebels and the man directing them on a daily baht payplan.

Suckers!!

I expected your interesting version of history which gets more laughable at each re-telling, which is why I added not just 2010 in parenthesis. Ever heard of the Rohingya people ?

If you studied the recent history of those bad days in Bangkok and looked closely at Abhisit's response - even agreeing to a dissolution of his government within 6 months - then you may disagree with yourself.

I seldom speculate. As an independent I have opinions on most ideological and political subjects as I lived in 2 communist countries for a number of years and in a giant of a country, Brazil, that finally understood that to follow one leader blindly is tantamount to being a human ant.

Westerners in Siam fail to realize that Democrats, Labor, Greens, etc. in their respective countries are not the equivalent of the Thai counterparts. Dynamics, tradition and the cult of personality play an important role in shaping the gregarious mentality of Thais. Thais are not independent thinkers. Thais are followers. That keeps the potential of the country where the ones in power want it: forever dormant. The reason that education is rote based and 3 to 4 hours a week of academic schooling is devoted to religion and the benefits of the traditional system of governance, not Physics, Math, Chemistry or languages. Much less to Democracy.

It is refreshing to know that there is intelligent life in this forum. Thank you Fab! There are others like you who remain silent to avoid the scrutiny and attacks of those who instead of debating issues take every instance ad hominem.

It's almost like fab4 and his new friend pisico are the same person, talking to himself.

(And they seem to get on like a shopping center house on fire.) That can't happen, can it ??? whistling.gif

Ah! so this is the Abhisit and Suthep pincer movement against the Thai government. For their own sake I hope they are able to present provable evidence at the Senate and the Constitutional Court.

Impeachment is a very serious matter. In terms of getting a decision to impeach there are issues and protocols akin to trying to prove a conspiracy. If the Senators that handle the petition are clean I'd say that there is a zero chance of success for Suthep. As is obvious, the petition is just a malicious component of the so called Democrat 'Pincer Movement'

Constitution Court; There does not appear to be a case to be answered so I would expect verdicts of innocence on each count. This is also assuming that the Constitution Court Judges are clean at the time of trial.

Previously didn't the democrats accuse Yingluck of possible vote buying because she cooked noodles in Nakon

What's next - ban PTP - after all I'm sure their members have all been involved in food preparation

The Pheu Thai also filed a complaint with the Election Commision about Abhisit cooking. Mind you it may have been about 'premeditated poisoning of the own electorate with food prepared by the candidate' rolleyes.gif

Logic: 'there does not appear', so 'I'd expect'

So, why doesn't there appear to be a case? Only after having a good answer on this you may proceed to the 'therefore' wink.png

I'm afraid you're right. Even if Thaksin were to skype in into the censure debate and confess he's in charge of Pheu Thai and the government, all Pheu Thai MPs would still vote against the censure motion.

Plus with 64% of the voting electorate not voting for Abhisit, he is more in line for the accusation of not doing very much at all!

Goh, and we also had 56% not voting Pheu Thai. What does this world come to?

The Democrats are so pathetic. Agreed they are specialists in passing amnesty laws (for coup makers) but every 4 year old can learn them what the word "democracy" means. They think Democrat is something like the DDR, the second D means Democratic too, or people, in the name of that of stingy China.

They have not even 20% of the votes, can someone please move to disband this anti democratic party?

It's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine.

Agreed, why not start with a movement to end the dictatorship party?

Oh, they have.

"they are specialists in passing amnesty laws (for coup makers)"

I think you'll find, if you cast your mind back, that the 2006 coup-makers were amnestied by the national-referendum in 2007, and not by the much-later Democrat-led coalition-government ?

For some reason PTP & Thaksin (who Thinks !?) did not follow the same route, and put his amnesty to a national referendum, perhaps they were less-than-confident in it passing ? wink.png

There is no point in debating with those who support the Thaksin dynasty no matter what vile acts they undertake

You want a strong case against Yingluk? Her party has introduced a bill, and then modified to benefit her brother, using the defense that it was in the best interest of the country, and any benefits to Thaksin and other PTP members was an unintended side-effect. The party has then been instructed to vote for this bill on party lines.

Subsequently the bill has been rejected unanimously by the senate, not one member believing this was in the nation's interest. What is left is assisting her brother. That belief is also widespread in the electorate, even amongst party supporters.

As PM she has to take responsibility for her government and party's actions because she's the one accepted the position and the fat paycheck.

Hopefully the mistaken belief that you can get away with anything while in office, especially with the DSI in your pocket, is going to bite her badly. Her caddy should have known better.

I'm a little that Tarit was not included in the impeachment, as it is quite clear he is running the DSI for the personal benefit of the fugitive criminal...!!

Why is the (so called) details of the petition confidential?

If these guy's had evidence ( not the fabricated kind used last time to steal government ) of "corruption and violations of the law" why are they not crowing it from the highest buildings and having multiple finger pointing photos in the papers and on the tv?

it's ok though yellow shirts, when this is found to be a steaming pile of sh*t then some other accusations will be invented and you guy's can have another crack at stealing government, cause ya couldn't win one legally now can ya?w00t.gif

But hey if Yingluck and the 3 ministers are guilty then let the full weight of the law fall.

You don't get it do you? I will explain for you.

The reason they are not shouting it from the rooftops is because that would not really be the best thing to do. Not everyone are like the stupid PTP.

They have released the general intention, they held back the details of the accusations. This is probably for two reasons. Some things can prejudice a case if made public, especially early on even before a case is brought. Secondly, for-warning the defendants will only give them the ability to get everything brushed over and the correct people paid to wriggle out of this.

I think it is a very clever move.

Think about it.

Put Yingluck squarely in the spotlight with no per-warning to answer the questions regarding the evidence that support the accusations. No script from big bro, just straight questions and answers without outside interference. She will fall apart on the spot, that's if she can even understand the questions.

Blurting out the evidence from the start like I said will ensure the corruption and intimidation machine starts grinding into action which would probably scupper the whole case.

Garbage!

Dear Goat roper, sorry for the late reply, (been busy) I got a life.

Yes I do live in Thailand, and I follow a little of politics, but no not for ten years.

I did a search on Google as you suggested on the "tax payers money " Thaksin had stolen,, Guess what I found? NOTHING.. no conviction of stealing tax payers money. But how could this be? you are so confident that you call me "naïve and uninformed", so maybe you could give me a link on these convictions??? because I'd prefer to deal in facts rather than embellishing issues to suite my own agenda.

What I do know that his X-wife has a tax issue, and he has been convicted on abuse of power, but hey that's not stealing tax payers money now is it?

I eagerly await your reply with these convictionsw00t.gif

Semantics are fun, aren't they? Now if you were to ask what charges does he have pending his return or amnesty................

Posted

Unfortunately, JRSoul, Goat roper made a statement and I simply asked for some clarification on said statement, so in his response instead of the requested clarification he chose to say I am "naïve and uninformed", and well to be brutally honest I have on occasion been guilty of both charges, BUT,,, I'm reasonably sure there is no conviction of theft of tax payers money, so this IMOP makes his statement a fiction

So I ask you who now is naïve and uninformed?

People are entitled to their opinion, as long as it is not passed off as fact. I just think Goat roper could try using facts instead,

and when challenged on an issue try backing it up with said fact's,

then he might have a little more credibility.

Don't confuse them by quoting numbers JD.... they may have to take their socks off.

They would have to drop their pants if they had to count to 21.
