I was issued a visa for the US last month. Unfortunately, i lost my passport. I have tried to contact the US embassy but the number that is listed on this site is a recording. I was wondering if anyone could help me....Do i need to re-apply for a new visa? Does the embassy keep a record of recent visas?..I would really appreciate if anyone could help..thanks

You would first need to make a police report concerning your lost passport. Then, you can use the police report to obtain a new passport. Yes, you would need to reapply for another US visa to be put into your new passport. Although the US Embassy may be able to use the details from your recent visa application, you will probably need to pay the application fee again.
