Many Scots are worried about the Mainstream Media (MSM) handling of coverage of the Scottish Independence Referendum and ask that The Scottish Government approach the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and request that the subordinate Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) deploy immediately an election monitoring mission to cover the Referendum including the debate across radio, television and print media.

The SNP government and the Yes Scotland campaign have been subjected to continuous misrepresentation, by BBC Scotland and across all print MSM.

Bias is clear, by omission & commission, to such an extent that the Foreign Ministers of Eire and Luxembourg have both been forced to clarify comments on Scottish Independence which were, it seems, deliberately reported out of context

Sorry I'm not good with computers, so don't know how to paste and post, but I would like to suggest that those who are interested in this subject, look on YouTube for a BBC newsnight debate on the 24/3rd between two very socialist Scots. The aim of both of these gentlemen is basically to have a socialist utopia. One of them Is Jim Sillars who is in favour of a Yes vote and George Galloway who is for a No vote. Very good debate.

The above post on the you tube video Jim Sillars and George Galloway was posted around 10 days ago.It was posted in response to the numerous posters who insist that the yes vote is only about Salmond and the SNP.

I can re post it if people wish

What would happen to Scotland if we became independent? Read the myths, and realities, of the Scottish independence debate.

https://www.gov.uk/government/news/scotland-the-uk-10-myths-10-facts

Well eva nothing new there then just more blatant lies and doom and gloom from the

westminister dream machine in the guise of hoped for myths and highly doubtful facts.

And surprise, surprise it's from the gov.uk.com website. cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif

Had you actually taken the time to read the thread you would have seen that they have

sadly mixed up the myths which are the facts and the facts stated are the myths.

BTW I live in Thailand and have been doing the UK lottery for years, sadly still waiting

for the big win, so myth no 2 is definitely busted!!!!

Can we English people have a referendum to vote on if we want Scotland to remain in the United Kingdom? It seems to be all one way traffic. All these people getting referendums. English people never get referendums for anything.

Why should England want any referendums.

Only 100 years ago they ruled over around two thirds of the world.

Besides. Most of the Scots are too stupid to vote for independence.

I think you've got it completely wrong, there will be a majority of Scott's who are stupid enough to vote for Separation. Much to the delight of many English people.

Same old stuff every time. It's a pity that people do not respect the ideals of democracy even a little bit. What is obvious is that the UK government is braying so much about not wanting to lose Scotland -- which kinda proves that Scotland is actually worth quite a lot ;)

Just read the "Ten Myths" propaganda from the gov.uk site referenced above and it is very clear that the main worry to Westminster is finances. They mention all sorts of other things in passing -- including currency, EU membership, and even dolly the sheep -- all of which are not too difficult to resolve, but the thrust of their argument indicates that they really do not want to lose control of Scottish government finances. Now that makes any sane person realise that there is something worth having in Scotland, which Westminster won't admit to wanting.

I say Scotland will not vote to become an independent country. If you had lived a reasonable distance from me, I would have liked to bet you a good Farang meal that I am right.

I see some lucky Scott Euromillions winners have just bankrolled the SNP and Scotland Yes for £3million out of their £161M jackpot.

Ironic is it not, I assume after Independence (IF) Scotland will be cut off from the National Lottery and Euromillions.

Why would Scots be denied access to Euromillions? Does the UK government have a controlling say on who can participate, or are you showing signs of bitterness?

You say currency is not too difficult to resolve, how do you make that out, if you mean that a separated Scotland can still use the Pound, but have no influence in it's control, in other words Scotland would be dependent on the UK Chancellor of the Exchequer, then I will agree with you. As for EU membership not being too difficult to resolve, again I don't know how you've come to that conclusion, the chief Eurocrats in Brussels have already knocked that suggestion back, in addition some of the existing states would be Completely against accepting a break away region, of an existing member. And lets not forget that even in the event of Scotland ever being permitted to join the EU, one of the requirements would be for Scotland to relinquish it's monetary controls to the Euro. Is that independence ?.

Sure Tesco will certainly trade in a separated Scotland, however will they keep their banking HQ there, very much doubt it. The same will go for most of the financial service companies,( see post 1038) they will move south along with the majority of their jobs. This will be very good news for the City of London, leaving the rump of the remaining Scottish financial institutions to battle on, in an ever increasing larger market without the back up of large economy. Iceland here we come.

Must I be a UK resident/citizen to play?

Yes and No! The rules state that you should be in a country where it is legal to play lottery games online and that a resident of the UK or Isle of Man to play UK National Lottery games*.

http://www.lottery.co.uk/info/playing-overseas.asp

National Lottery operator Camelot will finally stop people that are overseas from accessing its website, three years after a This is Money story highlighted the issue of ineligible 'winning' prizes while abroad.

Back in the summer of 2009, we revealed how Camelot was selling online tickets to Britons on holiday, despite the terms and conditions stating the ticket had to be purchased in the UK or the Isle of Man in order for it to be valid.

That meant that any National Lottery, or even EuroMillions, tickets bought online when someone was abroad could not win - as highlighted by our reader Chris Jones who was told he could not have a £5,000 prize.

What kinda puzzles me is that WE as a whole, that is Scotland, England, Wales & N.Ireland are the United Kingdom. If Scotland breaks away, then there no longer is, or should be, a country known as the United Kingdom. If the remaining 3 countries want to call themselves The United Kingdom - fine; but in reality they no longer are Thee United Kingdom. And like an independent Scotland should, by rights, have to renegotiate their membership to Europe, NATO etc. the whole thing IMHO is an f'ing bag of worms, which any decent political lawyer could poke a dozen holes in - only saying!

That only right that accumulated funds should be spit, but as I see it there are very little accumulated funds, as the UK state pension has always been a ponzi scheme, money raised in NI goes straight back to the pensioners, very little is invested.

So it is likely that Scottish pensions will have to come from Scottish NI payees, so how much the Scottish earners have to pay compared to UK earners I do not know.

Strange, I don't see any English or Scottish flags flying, so under which flags were the English and Scottish soldiers fighting under.
