I intend to travel in early- to mid-February.

I see fares by Malaysian of £387 in economy class & £1045 in business class.

These seem to me the best achievable - or nearly so. If I'm wrong about either fare I'd appreciate relevant info.

There are som indications that airlines now consider dropping (instead of raising) prices as one gets near the departure date. But at the above prices it seems risky to not clinch the presently available deal. What would you do?

Make sure your visa etc is in order as an airline can refuse to carry you on a one way ticket without appropriate visa or onward travel. Thats an airline rule, not immigration.

Just a thought.

I agree. It comes across as rude to me as much as the punters

ONE way ?

appears if wanted you can get far cheaper.... http://www.kayak.co.uk/flight-routes/United-Kingdom-GB0/Bangkok-Suv--BKK

from £194... many airlines under £300 ONE WAY

Malaysian I hear is a good airline, and if it is the A380........ last time I went with Malaysian said never again was the worst flight/plane I have every been on.

I don't see kayak showing anything under £400 one way in February, which I mentioned in my post as my travel date.

Most of these sites don't include tax until you've opted for a particular flight, hence from £194.

No this price was with Tax and all the other add on s, just checked the Promotion was for £14 + Tax and fees = total £194...

of course as with many promotions all say sold out.. depends if more than 1 seat at this fare, but maybe someone got a good deal...

Maybe worth trying ?

Before I came here to live, found most times you got a better deal at a travel Agent, they get promotions and deals every morning by Fax or used to... deals that you could not find online.... I used to pop in and say want to go to XYZ sometime in the month of XYZ, she mostly would phone me with a hot deal just arrived that day.. few time traveled Business class for less than Economy class

Clear your browser (https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner is the easiest option if you don't know how) as kayak and the like reportedly use your cookies to pressurise you. Every time you visit they mark up the same prices a little bit so make you think you should book NOW!

Would appreciate any comments by steve or chiangmai on the seats, recline, legroom on malysian a380 economy. It's a long flight to kl.

All very positive, I'm 6 feet 2 and I was comfortable, didn't feel cramped at all - the reclining angle seemed to be the standard sort of thing, you're never going to have a super comfortable nights sleep in any airline in economy but you'll be able to sleep in some comfort.

Sorry to expand the immediate topic, but my other good prices are Turkish and Thai from London. I wonder if anyone can comment on their seats and general comfort - don't think they use a380s - vs the Malaysian a380.

I had a very comfortable flight. i am a bit on the cuddly size. good leg room. normal recline. i would use them as first choice again. the flights are a few hours longer than direct. i normally only fly one world as the stepson works for cathay

It certainly is harsh Trans, I have had some great advice from TV members including yourself. Motorcycles, cars, computers etc, I could go on.
