RIP Monty.

He died 27 November at Queen Sirikit Hospital in Sattahip after a long illness.

So many encountered him and I reckon most people who did were quite enriched by the experience. Monty (an Aussie) had owned SEVERAL gay oriented Pattaya businesses over the years, so I think it's fair to consider that he was a public figure.

What a personality!

Years ago, I used to go to Pattaya a lot. I might have run into him, since I spent considerable time in every gay establishment I knew of.

RIP.

I think he was a sweetheart of a man. So open to most everyone. Such a ham! I'm sure like anyone there is dirt to tell, but really, Monty was SPECIAL. About his businesses, let's face it, none of them seemed to be doing very well commercially, but he kept opening new ones with new concepts, again and again and again, largely it seemed for the SOCIAL aspect of it all. What an optimistic and creative spirit he had.

A particular memory of Monty in what seemed a very happy moment -- as "announcer" at his most unusual "show" at his long defunct Show Bar in Jomtien ..
