This is what my sons school director did to him..... Did not ask or tell him to get his hair cut like his teacher's have done in the past.

I think it's "F***ing Disgusting"!!!

What should can I, and what should I do about this?

I'd go in a see the director of the school, make a formal complaint and demand a formal apology to both your son and you.

If an apology is not forthcoming, I'd be inclined to give the director the same haircut.

Then move your son to another school and tell them that any punishment for misbehaviour is welcomed, however, in no uncertain terms is your son to be touched (smacked, caned, haircut or otherwise).

Like you I think the teachers's action is disgusting.

It amounts to a brutal assault on your child and the teacher should be made to answer for his actions.

Are teachers not concerned about the phsycological effect on the child their actions could bring

File an assault charge with the police.

This is just about power for the teacher and they should be told to concentrate on educating the children

not being a bully or practising their hair cutting skills.

Do something about it or other children will be assualted.

Hopefully the OP will let us know the outcome.

The school director or a teacher did this? How and when ?

Is your son Thai or a Luk Khreung

Do you have a wife? What does she say?

Thais for some reason very fussy about these things. We had to take one child out of Kumon because the teacher was more concerned about her fingernails than helping her learn Thai!

Whatever looks like you have to move schools!

This was a school director and not the teacher that did this to him? Regardless of whoever it was, I would class that as actual bodily harm.

Putting aside how you actually feel at the minute (and my sympathy goes out to you) I would ask for a board meeting immediately with yourself, wife and son in attendance. Before doing that, I would also file charges against the director involved. I know it may sound stupid, but if you have a parents/teacher organization at the school, get them involved as well, they pull a lot of weight.

Nobody, regardless of their assumed position should get away with actions like this.

Stay hard buddy, but keep it under control, counter aggression in situations like this doesn't work.

Yeah! I don't agree....happened to my wife's son (my son) when he was young....Hair wasn't regulation....so the school take matters into their hands...

Fact is...its nice to see some discipline being applied to the youth of today....There's just too much ...PC....get over it!

I agree with David48. Remember this is Thailand not the west. Teachers trim students hair all the time. I doubt if a Thai Teacher Parents Association would give you much sympathy. I am not saying this is right and in the west the director would probably arrested for assault, but here I doubt if anything would happen. Perhaps if you went to the press, but then you would be causing someone to lose face and if you want to live here, that probably isn't a good idea.

Looks like it was cut with a weed whacker. At least they could have done a proper job of it.

Was there any forewarning issued? This could be in the form of previously agreed-upon standards about dress and hygiene.

At my school, several students (late teens) were deemed to have hair too long to take the final exam. This was on the day of the exam, as the students had already entered the classroom and were sitting at desks waiting to be issued the exam papers. A school 'behavior' person came into the room, ran his fingers through their hair and escorted them all to a barber across the street and they all came back in 15 minutes looking like chemotherapy victims.

I guess that's how it works here.

I showed the pictures to my wife one second ago she was not shocked at all!

WOW....didn't know when I moved to Thailand that I was supposed to "like" all their rules (and so called non-rules)......When did they set up Thailand just to please us "westerners".....Uhhhhh ...NEVER!....again...TIT. and after 11 years of it you haven't learned to "chill" ....looks like a ruff future for you and your child...

If your son goes to school here I assume you are not a tourist.

Tourist police can / will not help you if you are not a tourist.

I don't know if I would report it to the police either.

This is not the west and reporting this to the police will probably just make life more difficult for you and especially your son'

It sounds like maybe you have been letting your son's hair grow until told to have it cut in the past.

Even though the "law" about students hair styles has recently changed, many schools still enforce the old policy about short hair.

Possibly the Director is fed up with having to tell your son to follow school policy and did this to force his point with you.

As I stated before, this is not the west, this is Thailand.

I know it sucks, but if I were you, I would be sure my son'd hair is cut before it gets to the point where he needs to be told to do so in the future.

It all boils down to, how badly do you want your son to go to school here.
