My girlfriend lives in Spain, she is Thai and has apllied for a visa at Madrid.She had all the documents required but it has been refered to the British Embassy in London.Anybody got any ideas why? Thanks.Dek

I suspect it has a lot to do with the circumstances you outlined in this thread.

What type of visa did she apply for? (edit, you say visit in the title, sorry!)

What happened to her husband?

Who, if anyone, is sponsering her; you or her husband or someone else?

BTW, there is no British embassy in London, I assume you mean the Home Office?

It's probable that the visa officer wants some legal clarification and has sought this from London.
