Applying for Green Card for Wife from a Third Country

Featured Replies

I'm starting the process for a green card for the Mrs., but we're currently living and working in the M.E. I've sent e-mails to the Embassy here, but so far, no reply. Has anyone had experience applying from a third country?

Cheers

KC

If you both have resident status you should be able to apply where you are located.

I would keep trying to email then but would double that it is going to the visa section.

Thanks, Joe. The embassy here requires an email request for interview specifically for visas. Hopefully, they'll get back to me soon.

Oops, started a reply but seem to have lost it.

Seems to me that you want to apply for an Immigrant Visa for your wife, correct?

Here's the U.S. Embassy's www page on the subject, most U.S. embassies should be pretty similar:

http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visas.html

You might be eligible to apply for Direct Consular Filing of the IV, rather than having to process it through U.S. Immigration in the U.S. This non-official www covers the subject:

And, here's much more right from the U.S. CIS www site:
