Spotted this on the way to Kata this afternoon. Puzzling as the pickup was travelling up the hill.

Anyone know how this happened?

"Anyone know how this happened?"

Yes, I know. I was an insurance agent for 35 years. After careful review of the pics, and judging by the angle of the dangle. I would say STUPID.

I saw it today. I laughed.

Not because they crashed but I have seen this Ford Wildtrack driving really wildly around Rawai. He almost cleaned me up a few weeks back.

You're baffled, in a place where blacked out "Ghost Riders" come at you on the wrong side of the road!

On a straight road, up a steep hill and almost a 90 degree elevated landing and it didn't roll?

Dumbass! I love how these clowns think their truck is somehow a sports sedan and will handle as such.

"I was an insurance agent for 35 years." - how to make friends and influence people. :) :)

Don't know what happened, but I'm surprised it was still there. I pased this morning and it was there already looking like it had been there some time, must have happened last night.

Definate case of brake failure. No fault of the driver. smile.pngsmile.png

Not sure about brake failure and I'm also not sure about brain failure.

I'm certain you guy's are thinking the same.

I passed by there about an hour. Still there. And the lights have been out on that stretch for about a month so it's pretty dangerous when coming up the hill at speed.

I have one more bit of conjecture to add...I surmise someone was overtaking coming down the hill very fast, as I have seen many times there, usually by a delivery truck of some kind, and forced the pick-up into and over the guard rail. The guard rails along there are mostly cosmetic. Not nearly strong enough to act as intended, as evidenced here.

That actually makes a great deal of sense. Hope he got out ok - fortunately missed the pylon and should be ok if he was wearing a belt.

Someone watching fast n the furious, then decided to go for a ride!

The driver was distracted by that hitchhiker.

That" hitchhiker "with the motorbike you mean?smile.png

The driver was distracted by that hitchhiker.

Now you mention it, I have seen 2 people hitchking in 2 days, after not having seen any in many years.

The car was still there this morning, it really is taking a long time.

Maybe they're waiting for a crane or to lift it out, it looks like it is in a condition good enough to just drive away when it is back on the road again.

Still there this afternoon its a ford ranger XLT

Probably cause by dangerious driving, DUI, heart attach or stoke

Cannot be dangeriuous driving or DUI as know one does that in Thailand

A truck is there trying to retrieve it now. But I can see they are head scratching because if they slide it out it will just make the damage worse.

He needs a crane for that to happen.
