Just looking for people's views over the increasing censorship on TV of people smoking or having a gun held to their heads.

I sat watching Sin City last night where a guy gets his hand chopped off, two guys get a sword through their heads, a girl gets her face splattered with blood and a guy gets his balls ripped off, his face punched to a complete pulp and girls walked about dressed as hookers but the smoking was not on view.

Who's idea was this ?

We need a new saying rather than TIT, it just doesn't get to the bottom of this country's stupidity at times.

Yeah it's funny sometimes with the voice censorship. For example, most of the explitives got changed in "Snatch" - but the "C" word still got through, which in most eyes (or ears) is the most offensive swear word there is....

Whilst the rest of the world is realising that PC is ridiculous, the Thai powers that be seem to be going arse crazy over it. Hopefully Mr Thaksins replacement won't be quite as intent on turning Thailand into a sterile country of robots......

i find it funny when they pixellate out that guy in king of the hill who always smokes. the clouds of smoke rising from the tiny pixellated area just about sums up the topsy turvey world we live in.

there has been speculation as to who owns the company whose job it is to do the pixellations .

would be a nice little earner here in thailand.

The fun police are on the rampage in Thailand. You can't get a drink after 1AM but you can go into most bars and get a BJ for a couple of hundred baht. ....strange.

At least the TV programmes all seem to smell better

But on the "news" channels, the pixellation of dead bodies might as well be non-existent. It's more like an out-of-focus camera!

I think the cinema channels have to cater for other countries - so UBC applies rules to cover them all, not just Thailand.
