Indeed, make sure you have a hotel booked. New hotels are coming on line all the time, but there is still a limited supply.

I can spend days just wandering through Yangon, one of the few cities in Asia that still has character.

Shwedagon Pagoda is a must, if you go at dawn there won't be many tourists.

There are plenty of Pagodas and old colonial buildings; I believe the Myanmar Lonely Planet is widely available in Thailand.
