Took the guiter player (Chiang Mai)

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Is Took still playing at the Brasserie in Chiang Mai most nights of the week? Saw him for the first time in 1998, and thought he was great. Then saw him again in 2007 and 2008 a couple of times, and thought he was even more fantastic. I was just wondering if he's still there and if he's still playing that great music.

Brasserie on the river is now an Italian Restaurant, unsure where they relcated.?

Brasserie has moved. Here is a link to a map that describes where it is now.

In another post a few months ago, Cheingmaijoe, mentioned that he saw Took when he went in July and September. We haven't been there yet this year, but plan to go soon. If anyone knows anything, it would be appreciated.

Just other info regarding live music:

- le carneval (Dec 5 to Dec 10) on Nimmanhaemin Soi 1 has various groups playing. I think it starts at 6pm to 10pm. Don't pay attention to their website listing of the bands as it is incorrect. There is a list to the left of the entrance. There are a lots of crafts too, but the bands playing are right in front.

- We planned to go see the bands there then go to Boy Blues Bar. It just so happened that Boy showed up to play, so we got to see him a couple of times last night. Although it was jam night (Monday) and the place was packed. Very talented people performed! It was a good night and we're glad to see Boy's so crowded although it was hard to get a seat.
