PHUKET: -- Thanoo and Jaroon Tubkaew, owners of a somtam stall in Chalong, have issued a frantic plea for people to help find their six-year old daughter, who has been missing since last Friday afternoon (December 6).

Natthapa “Nong Dear” Tubkaew went missing after being dropped off close to home after spending an hour at her aunt’s house.

The aunt, Surin “Rin” Sridow, told The Phuket News today, “On that day, her father brought her to my house around 1 pm to play with me as usual. She’s a talkative and cheerful girl and she came to my house pretty often.

“Around 2 pm she went with Boy, who is about 20 and is a very close friend of Nong Dear’s elder. He was supposed to drop her off at her home [on Soi 4], but instead – at her request – he dropped her at Soi 5, from where, she told him, she intended to walk to play with friends in Soi 2.”

That was the last time she was seen by anyone related to the family.

“Later, about 3 pm, her father came to pick her up at my house, and we became very worried and started to look for her. After searching for her everywhere without success, we decided at around 7 pm to contact Chalong police station to tell them she was missing.

Nong Dear’s sister, 19-year-old Juthatip “Dow” Tubkaew, told The Phuket News that when she disappeared the little girl was wearing a yellow T-shirt with a cartoon on the front of it, and red shorts.

Nong Dear is 120 cm tall, weighs 16 kilos and has hair cut straight across her forehead and hanging down at the back to below her waist. She is missing both upper front teeth.

Police have already questioned everyone who was with Nong Dear on Friday, and subsequent searches have failed to locate her.

Anyone with information can call her sister Dow at 086-9544093, her aunt Rin at 082 285 4930 (Rin’s), or Chalong Police at 076-381 247.

I fully understand the desperation of the parents, I have a 6-year old kid myself, but after 4 full days chances of her being found alive and well are really, really small.

I seem to recall with previous events such as this that the guilty party was often called Boy. It seems that we only have Boy's word that he dropped her off.

I hope there is good news and she is found unharmed

No reason to assume Boy is the culprit (Simon, I know you don't). But I am a parent, and no way if I would be entrusted with the task of bringing a 6 year old child home, I would release her from my care before she really is home.

Hope she'll be found alive and well.

So she says she will go play with kids in soi 2 and then gets dropped off at soi 5.....which also means on the opposite side of the road.

Since one side is even numbers and the opposite side uneven numbers.

Why not just drop her in soi 2?

Also, she lives in soi 4, so walking around there (from soi 5 to 2, supposedly) people should have seen her and

recognized her. I don't know the area and there is no street name mentioned, but there are always Thai people outside everywhere (surely at 2 in the afternoon).

They should question everyone around there. I assume they will/do.

Hope they find her.

Don't understand why everybody seems to be so convinced Boy took advantage of the child.

Children that age can be verbally very well developed, and tend to overestimate what they are capable of. My line of thinking is that she pleaded very convincingly with Boy to let her go by herself, and Boy, being not experienced with young children and lacking responsibility in general, just let her have her way.

Anyway it is all speculation. Pray she will be all right.
