Dried Bananas with NO Sugar

Featured Replies

Does anyone know where in CNX I can buy dried bananas with NO sugar on a daily basis?

Preferebly the Hang Dong area but near the City is ok.

are you referring to the steamed and then dried banana, brown in color with no sugar?.......I buy from time to time on Samoeng rd.,(Baan Pong area), the seller is on the right-side of the road, bags are 10 baht.

Baan Suan Pac health food store usually has them. I think that they dry them themselves. They are organic and more expensive than the ones mentioned above.

Where is this place?

Near the President Hotel on the street that goes in front of a big Thai market and runs straight into a white stupa near the side of the American consulate.

The new Rimping on Canal road near to Hang Dong would have them. North of the night safari intersection.

Bananas are really high in 'natural' sugar.

Not a great choice for fat/weight loss and or blood sugar issues.

Actually, bananas are fairly low when it comes to glycemic load, so not bad for blood sugar in reasonable quantities. However, dried bananas are probably much higher.

The market is muang mai, great place for picking up other cheap fruit and veg while you are buying your dried bananas smile.png

It's not so bad in the evening, after everything is washed down. In the mornings though, wow. Makes you wanna spew...

Dried bananas are of course concentrated.

The fact they taste sweet should give a clue…..

IMO, generally, they do not taste any sweeter than a ripe banana that has not been dried. They just taste different. IMO, dried ones do not taste as good.
