Alternative to PayPal for receiving website payments

Featured Replies

Hi

We need a second payment method. We have PayPal. 2checkout have rejected us

My partner is just a sole trader no no ltd company set up.

Many customers just dont like paypal.

What are the alternatives? Ive looked at AsiaPay but it seems to be just a gateway/API script and we still need to set up an Internet Merchant account.

So what combination of Internet Merchant account and gateways work the best. Ideally we need to take payment in several currencies not only USD or only THB

Anyone with any experience of this who could share, much appreciated thank you

Have a look at stripe.

if you are legit, open a bank account

Try opening a business account at scb and ask for online payment gateway to accept credit cards if available. If not, try another bank.

Why wouldnt they like paypal. It cost the customer nothing and offers them good protection. Of course the vendor does have to pay.

Yes im waiting for Stripe to open in Thailand

Trouble with the Thai banks, customers have to checkout in Thai Baht.

Id like to give them alternative currencies. Stripe would be perfect but not available in TL.

What is AsiaPay?

and you are the only one who ever does this and you have no access to the web to see how other people do, come on you need to upgrade you advertising a little.

huh? I don't get it

it's a fair question to ask on this forum. Finding the right payment gatewway can be a maze sometimes. A lot of questions on this forum can be answered from searching google....

OP - try citruspay, epayworx

power to people who are trying to find paypal alternatives, keeps the payment gateway competition healthy and stops a monopoly from being created

ThaiEpay is good but you need a Thai ID or work permit. Accepts payment in any currency.

You can use Stripe in Thailand if you have a UK or US ID card, no need to live there and they can transfer your payment anywhere in the world...

You are right that many people don't like Paypal and people who do not understand this do not know what they speak about.

Thank you for this thread, it's a chance to get updates about this problem: I hate all these monkeys and especially 2checkout that is one of the worst, even worst than Paypal. But why did they reject your application ?

ThaiEpay and Stripe both accept individuals, unlike Paymill and Braintree that have decided to be as stupid as others... (braintree being bought by paypal 1 billion you can be sure that they are retarded forever)

Please tell us more about your needs ?

They are jerks?coffee1.gif I used them since 1998. Stopped 10 years ago and never looked back.

BitCoin is too new and quite complicated to set up an account to buy and sell or accept as payment, but it's an option for current BitCoin owners and traders. Try Payza which used to be AlertPay.

Die Paypal die.

Long live Bitcoin and crypto currencies ;)

Seriously, setup Bitcoin with Bitpay and Ripple on your site now before you need them.

Does thaiepay and stripe operate for a company in HK with HK accounts but directors live in Los?

paymate.com, but be aware customer service sucks and receiving money takes a few days

Stripe is now only open for UK and US.

Payza is a scam.

ThaiEpay don't care as long as you are Thai or have a work permit in Thailand.

Thanks everyone for your help.

Some things to think about.

Yes you absolutely must have an alternative to PayPal for an ecommerce store. Some people dont like it so you cant afford to rely on PayPal. You need the PayPal option too. You cant afford to lose customers at the conversion stage.

Ill have a look at Thaiepay and also pay2buy

Stripe would be absolutely ideal.

Please, if you publish information tell us if you use this service as individual or company ?

Few of them accept individuals...

I didn't know https://www.paxum.com and http://www.paymate.com

Any feedback ?

paymate.com can be company or individual, easy to open, no contracts or documentation required.

slow to pay, customer service rude and pathetic, takes a few days to process the payment, not uncommon to receive charge back months later and they do not even fight for you, simply take the money and give it back

Can you elaborate on how thaiepay works...you say as long as Thai and have ID....but mentioned earlier they will send any currency anywhere, but do you have to have it sent here first or can go direct to your o/s accounts ?

Stripe pays anywhere, Thaiepay maybe only in Thailand, but with Internet banking it is easy to transfer anywhere you want.

ThaiEpay is a big company and is reliable but their checkout page really suxx and look amateur.

Paysbuy seems good also but no direct experience.

What about Asiapay ? And 2c2p ? Siampay ?

Thaiepay uses Kasikorn:

Thanks

I beleive asia pay is a gateway not a full "payment solution". So you still going to need an Internet Merchant account, which can be done.

I found out from Kasikorn that they offer currency conversions on the fly.. which is really good. When i looked at setting up in hong kong, you needed a separate currency bank account for each currency and needed to maintain $5k in each currency account which is crazy. Still kasikorn want to keep 200k of your money as security deposit, which is a bit steep I think whereas companies like PayPal and stripe only keep a deposit (usually a lot less) when you have high turnover
