Hmm..this idiot just dont understand the meaning of corruption and donation. People have their right to donate to whoever they want to show support. They support people organising this protest, not giving suthep to keep. So MR IDIOT, I think u better wash clean your "ass" and prepare to sit behind bars.

You would not say that "people have the rights to donate to whoever they want to show support" if you had been living in the Uk in the 70's and 80's when people were making donations to the IRA that funded the bombing campaigns that killed innocent people in shopping malls etc (including two of my family members in the Manchester bombing)

Are you refering to the Manchester bombing of 96..over 200 injured and no deaths. Its just that you started your text with 70s and 80s

June of 96 is not a time I'll forget in a hurry. The mainstay of 70's and 80's was in northern Ireland and the mainland campaigns of the 90's brought it to our doorstep

<snip for brevity>

What's next?
Abolition of freedom of assembly?

Perhaps businesses owned by Democrat-voters, or their homes, might be marked with a special-marking, so that all "true democracy" supporters might avoid them ?

Book-burning has also been a popular move elsewhere, in the past ! wink.png

Not elsewhere. In Thailand, ordered by one of those educated 'good people' who were selected to reform the country. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thanin_Kraivichien

Yep, that's the guy that wanted Democracy Monument demolished and the 18 Thammasat student leaders who were jailed after 76 (for two years I believe) executed. But, of course, all he wanted was a chance to reform the country and crack down on corruption...

I dislike Tarit and don't trust what he's up to, but sorry if I can't shed a tear for those that are summoned (which they'll just ignore anyway). Several of these people have pushed for tougher LM penalties and crackdowns on those they perceive to be dissenting from their royalist creed - and this during a time when a harmless old man died in jail for supposedly sending two text messages. Maybe if the shoe were on the other foot, they'd be able to emphathise with those who've been subject to such repression. Probably not though because what are the chances of any of these people actually seeing the inside of a jail cell? Close to zero I'd say.

Once PT starts doing the sort of things CRES did in 2010 e.g. keeping an academic who had nothing to do with the red shirt protests in a military camp for two weeks with no legal process involved, then I might start to get worried and angry.

For 40 years they carried on, in fact it still rumbles now and then even now

This man is also out of control. Storming government offices is one thing but when does anti-government speeches become a criminal offence unless out and and out incitement to crime.

2010 and ' leave Bkk in flames ' might be a suitable example but some of those who said it are now in government.

It might not be long before he decides to visit TV and bring in all the foreigners commenting on Thai politics and freezing their bank accounts, too??? Good way to pick up 400k to 800k baht in all those retirement and marriage visa bank accounts. And this government is desperate for money.

Please supply links to those convicted of burning Bangkok

I am puzzled as to why you request links to persons convicted of "burning Bangkok'.

Charges were laid against Arisman for incitement, but as of this date no conviction.

The three ringleaders, Nattawut, Jatuporn and Arisman were far more violent in anti government speeches than anything emanating from Democracy Monument at this time..

Suthep is anti Shinawat and seems well in control of what is presently happening in the capital.

Today's march raised a lot of money since Tarit the Terrier ordered banks to freeze accounts of the PRDC leaders. There seems to be some confusion re the elections with different signals being sent out by various parties, the EC, PTP etc.

We are nearly entering the third week of December and nothing has been resolved. Suthep is still a free man, Chalerm is keeping his head down and Yingluck is still appearing to be in control.

Tarit has been warned not to push this by The Senate Committee on Corruption Prevention and Examination of the Use of Powers by the State.... but the man in the sand has ordered him to proceed anyway, and Tarit is the one with his head on the block here.

If the cases are thrown out (and they will be), he may well find himself arrested and facing charges of his own. But I am sure Thaksin has quoted him a price for this anyway.

It is really quite remarkable that this <deleted> can continue to push on behalf of his Messiah when he has just received a clear warning that he has overstretched the limits.

There should be a car waiting for him tomorrow morning to haul him off to answer to several serious charges...!!

Rattie, "backtosubnormal" was being very clever in requesting links to those "convicted" of burning Bangkok.

As we are all aware, those thugs have never been brought to justice, and indeed, many of them were rewarded with government positions.

The day of reckoning is nigh, and I predict that these <deleted> will be nowhere near Thai soil when it comers...!!

How about one of those nice tourist police volunteers - you know, the ex Special Forces ones whistling.gif

None of the others would be very interested. Can someone do a citizens' arrest here - that would be supreme !biggrin.png

What's this 'backtosubnormal' shit?

And even more juvenile, "as we all are aware'- were you there when the fires were set?

What evidence do you have that the courts couldn't access?

And frankly, given the tone of your posts, 'what you can predict' is of very little interest. Even to those who side with you in this mess.

A criminal offence?

Look at the politically controlled group all meeting to hear political selective charges. The DSI, the police and the Attorney General. Thaksins Three Stooges.

Not a criminal offence but a political offence.

It shows how low Thailand is sinking.

I would suggest it is more juvenile defending a poster who is well known for requesting links, when that same poster spouts considerable volumes of garbage and lies and when requested for a link to his considerable volumes of garbage and lies disappears from the thread only to appear in others spouting yet more considerable volumes of garbage and lies.

Hay Tarit why don't you go after these people, these good Buddhists who set fire to a temple ant threatened and intimidated the Abbot and the monks :

Nakhom Pathom, Thailand. 11. December 2013 at 3PM. Several kutis (the huts where the monks sleep) of Wat Onoi have been burned by a gang of motorists carrying bottles of gasoline.

When the red shirts gathered at Rajamangala Stadium at the end of November in a pro-government demonstration, their leaders publicly threatened through the PA that Luang Pu Buddha Isara, the Abbot of Wat Onoi, would pay the consequences for supporting the anti-government demonstrators. Since that day, gangs of motorbikes and cars with red-shirts, some of them carrying guns, are pestering around and inside the premises of Wat Onoi every day and night. The Police is not responding to the calls of help (they are not helping the people in conflicts related to red-shirts, as with the incidents at the Ramkhamhaeng University)

Luang Pu Buddha Isara has been criticizing the corruption of the government and the passivity of the police with corrupted monks (like the case of Nen Kham, where he personally presented evidences to the DSI). In that sense, he is like the successor of Luang Por Maha Boowa. Maha Bua severely criticized the corruption of the former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, and Buddha Issara is criticizing the corruption of the heirs of the Shinawatra clan.

If he can not provide links (as I doubt you can for most of the allegations of PTP corruption and vote buying that have been tossed around as facts) then simply call him on it.

No need to insult him personally.

To do so would give the Freedomj Fighters- the champions of the New Absolute Democracy the lable of -- Hypocricte!!

Unless 'your' definition of democracy includes muzzlig through school yard thuggishnes, the right of other people to speak.

Now I KNOW that Suthep invites intelligent debate.

And in this new Wolld of Absolute

Democracy- all his foreign accolytes would share the same quest for synthesis.

Or shall we just go fot the throat?

When will posters realize that hanging your dumbness on a public forum discredits anything of value you might have to contribute to the endless search for the TRUE.

So the government is now going after academics. Once Pheu Thai has finished jailing the opposition, attempting to dissolve the Democratic Party, and freezing the accounts of businesses throughout the country that have voiced sympathy with the protest movement, they may do well to hope and pray that the Democratic Party will indeed take part in this election. For if they do not - either due to imprisonment, dissolution, or intimidation - come February 2 - Surapong may have a very difficult time explaining how 50 countries are deliriously ecstatic that there is a country that has a parliament, but no opposition.

In any ´normal´ country people who occupy government buildings and hi-jacks tv-stations and telling them what to broadcast, and people finacially supporting such thugs would indeed be charged and jailed. Why should it be any different in Thailand?

The democrats needs to stop being the crybabies they are and respect the elections. Period! (Same goes for the reds if they lose the election)

Otherwise this farce will never stop.

"He said a meeting of DSI investigators with the Metropolitan Police Bureau,

the National Police Office, the Office of the Attorney-General will be held

Monday to consider all evidence which have been gathered to take

legal action against this second group of people."

Seems like a waste of time to me.

Just skype Thaksin and ask him what he wants done with them.

No need to gather a bunch of yes men and then tell them what to say.

Your comparison is like comparing chalk to cheese, why not claim that donations to Al Qaida are similar to those given to the Dems and Suthep as well? The fact is that donations to the IRA and Al Q were/are nothing like the legitimate donations to a political party or to Suthep, I don't see them with armed militia shooting the Government forces or innocent civilians or using explosive devices to kill people and destroy property, but come to think of it maybe the donations to the red shirts in 2010 are absolutely similar to those given to the IRA and Al Q.

Jim you misinterpreted my reply. I'm not saying Suthep and Al Qaeda are similar. I'm syting his statement is not robust and and peop#le don'y have the right to send money to whoever they want and i used IRA as an example. But as the poster thinks this way he shouldn't whine about Thaksin buying votes should he as it's his right to give money to whoever he wants, right?

Stick to comparing the IRA to Suthep. I don't agree but that is my opinion and you have your's

Leave the vote buying for another thread.

Well, supporting a peaceful protest is nothing wrong. People have money they donate, people who are not so rich supported by cooking food to give the protestors to eat. Thats the way thai people show unity. Have u seen the elderly walking with a walking stick? One who is handicapped wheeled his way following the rally. So whats the problem with donating? Since the government is corrupted, why the thai cares?
and who was just in the government? Study the history of suthep!
