Ontario premier, Doug Ford, uses victory speech to rally Canadians for trade war.
Ontario Premier Doug Ford romped to a third-consecutive landslide Thursday night in a snap election he argued was necessary in order to win a mandate to fight a trade war with the United States. “Donald Trump thinks he can break us,” Ford said during his victory speech. “He is underestimating the resilience of the Canadian people, the Canadian spirit. https://www.politico.com/news/2025/02/28/doug-ford-landslide-win-00206708 -

Six-Year-Old Girl in Critical Condition After Brutal Dog Mauling in Nonthaburi
A dog is family of the Wolves and have the same instinct. Once the instinct is triggered they will attack anything that stand in their way. Dog owners shall be held responsable for the actions of their dogs and made to pay the damage they have caused by every possible way. Confiscate their house(s), Car(s), Motorbike(s), bank accounts and salaries, etc. until they have paid for the damages of the dogs. There should be also a forced insurance for dog owners like in most Western countries to ensure that the victims will be paid. https://commercevillagevet.com/3-aggressive-dog-breeds-revealed-youll-surprised/#:~:text=The Dachshund.,Jack Russells came in third. The study involved researchers from the University of Pennsylvania as well as 6,000 dog owners. The number one aggressive breed out of the 33 dogs surveyed? The Dachshund. Yes – the wiener dog! The study found that “one in five dachshunds have bitten or tried to bite strangers, and a similar number have attacked other dogs; one in 12 have snapped at their owners.” Number two on the list is an even more diminutive breed – the Chihuahua, while Jack Russells came in third. -

Transfer USA Social Security to Bangkok Bank using International Direct Deposit
Just a word of caution. If you change your address at Fidelity to a non-US address, Fidelity may put restrictions on your account. I changed my address to Thailand a few years ago and Fidelity restricted my account, so I changed back to my US address. -

Trump: EU was formed to 'screw' the United States
The cult followers are so blind. The US without the EU is nothing. And vice versa, but I think the EU could survive better without the US than the US could without Europe. Hopefully we will find out soon when America retreats up its own backside and is cut off by its former EU partners. The world will laugh. -

Nong Khai visa run
So just to offer a little anecdotal information. When I exited Thai immigration in early January I was somewhat alarmed when the Thai IO offered the opinion that I might be ok for a quick turnaround that time but don't count on it again. This was contrary to the accepted wisdom of the day. Fortunately for my Feb 28th run I heeded his warning and used a very well connected agent out of Udon Thani and events proceeded without a hitch. But while on the Laos side it was obvious there were a number of distraught farang and the number of people crossing the border was significantly reduced compared to previous visits. The agent informed me that as of about 1 month ago immigration has decided the multiple visa exempt entry days are over. The basic position is that after 90 days (60 +30) it's time to move on and reenter on a touist visa from an Embassy in a foreign country or begin the Non O visa process. The rationale for this limited or no notice about this change of policy seems to be , simply put , that this has always been within any IO discretion. Can't argue with that. But the driving force seems to be the increasing need to monitor the where abouts of bad actors. These are just observations from my experience today and I hope with this foresight everyone can enjoy this country free of border crossing anxiety going forward. If the above seems incorrect please accept the advice of Dr. Jack and other experts on this forum who are more informed than me.
