JJDinsay
Anyone have any idea where I can find info. regarding speed of Internet connections? I understand that some providers have higher speed connections to International sites than others. I found a Powerpoint presentation detailing all the service providers connections but don't know how outdated it is.
Guest IT Manager
Better to work on the experience of others in Thailand. ISP speed versus capacity to provide is an important part of the equation. Cable modem etc works well in the big mango, but it sucks in CM. They are happy with 5km copper links to nodes, which seems to me to be a bit outside the level of acceptable elsewhere. Couple that to having no technicians who know what the node actually does and how to drive it (TOT and TT&T), If TA is close, maybe worth a go since they aren't public servants and many understand customer servcie. Good luck and let us kow. BTW facts and PP shows are really just dressing, they normally don't come close to the facts of the situation. Ask to talk to the engineers who drive the nodes. Surprising if they don't speak good English, it's a bit of a heads up that they have no idea what it all means, since all the stuff for the nodes is written in English.
