January 7, 201412 yr April fool already? Sent from my GT-I9200 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app That's the first thing, that came to my mind...an April Fools Joke As if the World wasn't laughing hard enough already. She would make such good material for a comedy Sitcom Boing - tinkle-symbol and drum roll
January 7, 201412 yr She will get my vote You don't have a vote. The Nobel Prize is awarded by a selected group of intellectuals (a bit like Suthep's council) and not a "popularity with the uneducated" competition. Edited January 7, 201412 yr by JRSoul
January 7, 201412 yr i thought i had a warped sense of humor , serious disconnect from reality going on in los at the moment .
January 8, 201412 yr Why do Thais treat the Nobel prize the same as the Guinness Book of World Records? Like a novelty honor that can be bought? They just don't get it.
January 8, 201412 yr I am pretty sure the Nobel is a few years away from allowing PUPPETS in the group. Pity, or Jim Henson's 'Swedish Chef' would be a shoe-in, I suspect !
January 8, 201412 yr IT,s right my friend ! She spend most of her time travel abroad, and show her nice dresses, and shoes. Did any other country are impressed of her ??? Maybe about her spending,s ? And all her cars and private jet? And it's the Nobel prize for what ?? The friendliest PM in the world due to her 50 trips abroad in over 2 years. ridiculous.
January 8, 201412 yr And it's the Nobel prize for what ?? The friendliest PM in the world due to her 50 trips abroad in over 2 years. ridiculous. Well perhaps it's just confusion. Maybe they meant to nominate her for the Guinness book of records for the number of trips, not the Nobel prize?

January 8, 201412 yr Yingluck has represented the country well. She has done so with grace and dignity. She is a worthy contender for the prize. She has engaged in no military action and she has been diplomatic with opponents. There have been winners who are a lot less deserving than her. I wish her the best of luck.
January 8, 201412 yr Nobody can be nominated for Nobel Price, the decision is made by a panel of "experts" that do the nominations within the panel.
January 8, 201412 yr Yingluck has represented the country well. She has done with grace and dignity. She is a worthy contender for the prize. She has engaged in no military action and she has been diplomatic with opponents. There have been winners who are a lot less deserving than her. I wish her the best of luck. Perhaps you could give us some examples of her amazing successes. I suggest you start with reconciliation, stopping corruption, improving the life of Thai citizens......... BTW why would she engage in military action? What we have today is genuine peaceful protesters, not a facade hiding armed insurrectionists.
January 8, 201412 yr Is this a hoax. I am not a fan of Barrack Obama but the one thing he did that is undeniable is break down racial barriers and get elected as the first black president. This is and was an important landmark in American History. What he has done since, like him or not is irrelevant. So, I can kind of understand his nomination. But Yingluck has failed to lead the country and keep it together, hence parliament has been dissolved and she is only the acting caretaker. The post said she should be nominated because "she has done her best", ahh bless her. Absolutely nonsense and I hope it is just a silly story with no merit.
January 8, 201412 yr I'd agree to give her the World Class Standard Pulitzer Award for Antisemitic Reindeer Circumspection, the German "Bundesverdienstkreuz",, plus a doctorate degree in English literature, but NOT Alfred's Nobel Prize. Or ALL.in one. Or three in one. I'm confused.-
January 8, 201412 yr Yingluk for Nobel Prize? .. and why not? She was left out standing in Thaksin's field. All be it, she is supposed to be outstanding in her own field, but this is Thailand, where most things from the West, even such as the spirit of amnesty, can be twisted or simply misunderstood.

Have you forgotten her good command in the English language which is almost as good as Tony Blair's? All Thai students will be able to learn English in two weeks JUST because of her. Then her ability in NOT saying the truth, which helped so many people countrywide not to lose face.Or roughly speaking just NOT knowing the truth, as it didn't really matter. It seems that her older brother had never left his country. Hooray.......I wear my red shirt with pride.-
January 8, 201412 yr Popular Post Yingluck has represented the country well. She has done with grace and dignity. She is a worthy contender for the prize. She has engaged in no military action and she has been diplomatic with opponents. There have been winners who are a lot less deserving than her. I wish her the best of luck. Can you vision her, winning another popular large minority people's mandate so she can do "what she wants"? She will push the Amnesty bill through in the interests of peace and harmony. Sure, it will benefit one or two well known people, but that's purely coincidental. She visions the big plan. Then her brother and 'caddy' can be welcomed back into the fold, with due pomp and ceremony and all this Skype joking stopped. The 2.2 trillion loan can be secured, off budget and not subject to parliamentary scruitiny . She can spend this wisely to develop the countries infrastructure so it can lead ASEAN. All children will be given tablets as previously promised, and education will skyrocket. Farmers lives will be transformed by the rice pledging scheme as her government dominate the world rice market with their clever strategies, returning Thai rice industry to its previous position. Her hardworking loyal cousin will lead Thailand to a seat on the UNSC. This will allow the PM/DM to teach them the wisdom of her approach, bringing a woman's touch to world issues and diffusing the growing tensions in SE Asia as China seeks more dominance, We could be witnessing the emergence of a new world leader, at a time when real quality leaders are so lacking. Truly a worthy nominee. You can imagine the humbleness in the acceptance speech " I come from election. I democratic elect. Thank you three times". Good luck indeed.
January 8, 201412 yr Topics like this should never be allowed it causes bad feelings with posters, stirring up trouble and only adds friction. The PM cannot be nominated by the populous, so why the heading--bad taste TVF.
January 8, 201412 yr its a long road from nomination to actually getting it....snowball in hell comes to mind I can see the tears welling up Edited January 8, 201412 yr by terryp
January 8, 201412 yr To win a Nobel prize one is usually supposed to have made some kind of significant contribution to the worldwide community. Only significant contribution she has made is to her bank account at the nation's expense......
January 8, 201412 yr Yingluck has represented the country well. She has done with grace and dignity. She is a worthy contender for the prize. She has engaged in no military action and she has been diplomatic with opponents. There have been winners who are a lot less deserving than her. I wish her the best of luck. Of course she deserves it. Where would Thailand be now without her. I would also like to see PT nominate her brother Thaksin for the Nobel Prize for Economics. He too is a worthy contender for his management of Thailand's rice industry which has been unprecedented. And like his sister there must have been winners a lot less deserving than him too, although I can't actually think of any.
January 8, 201412 yr Is anyone really shocked by this? After Obama's win (for doing nothing) - the luster of the Nobel prize seemed a little more dull.
