January 7, 201412 yr Hi all, which bike shop sells the best selection of locks in Bangkok. The lock in mine is about go to so I thought I'd pay a bit more (1000-2000) for something better. I don't mind paying a bit more than that for a quality lock though. tx
January 8, 201412 yr I use an ABUS U lock (I use it in combination with two cable locks - a cheapo and a Kryptonite - overkill I know but I still have possession of my bike). THe ABUS is really strong but very heavy. The shop from which I bought it no longer stocks them, but LA Bikes is the authorised distributor for ABUS in Thailand and ABUS have a wide range of good locks.
January 8, 201412 yr Try this place. Culture Cycliste is owned by LA Bicycle. Last time I was there, they had a lot of locks, probably all ABUS. It's on Sarasin Road, the same road, same side as ProBike, but at the other end near Wireless Road. Culture Cycliste, 152 Sarasin Road (on the G Floor of Indo Suez House) Khwaeng Lumphini, Khet Pathum Wan Bangkok 10330 Tel. 026-514-114
January 9, 201412 yr For those who live in the western area of Bangkok... Culture Cyclist has a huge branch at Putthamonthon Rd. Sai 4, not far from the park. Very interesting large show room with many imported brands that you don't typically find in Thailand. Cheers, CM-Expat
