EC cancels advance voting in two more districts - Don Mueng, Lak Si

BANGKOK: -- The Election Commission Sunday announced the closing of the advance polling stations of the Don Mueng and Lak Si districts, TNN Channel reported.

The stations were closed because protesters blocked the stations.

Advance voting in Northeast, North, Central proceeds smoothly: EC sec-gen

BANGKOK: -- Election Commission secretary-general Puchong Nutrawong said the election in the North, the Northeast and the Central went on properly while polling stations were blocked in Bangkok and the South.

He was speaking to reproters one hour after the advance voting started.

Advance voting cancelled in 16 Bangkok districts so far

BANGKOK: -- As of 9:30 am, advance voting in 16 Bangkok districts have been cancelled, Bangkok city clerk to Ninnart Chalitanont said.

The 16 districts are Bang Bon, Pathumwan, Bang Kapi, Klong Toei, Don Mueng, Dusit, Thung Khru, Bang Kho Laem, Bang Phlat, Min Buri, Watthana, Lak Si, Bang Sue, Rat Burana, Ratchathewi and Bang Khen.

People’s Democratic Reform Committee’s protesters blocked entrances of several advance polling stations in Bangkok. Some booths saw the protesters blockade as early as 5am.

Voters cast ballots in advance voting in Chon Buri

BANGKOK: -- A lot of voters turned up early in the morning to cast their ballots in the advance voting in Chon Buri without protests from the People's Democratic Reform Committee, Thai Rath reported.

A total of 192,088 voters have registered to cast advance voting in the eastern province.

Voters who fail to cast advance voting can vote on Feb 2: Bangkok's election chief

BANGKOK: -- Veera Yeephare, director of Bangkok's Election Commission, said voters, who cannot cast their ballots on advance voting on Sunday, can also cast their votes on February 2. He told Springnews.

35 out of 50 advance voting stations in Bangkok cancelled so far

As of 10am: so far 35 from 50 advance polling stations have been closed due to the rallies against the election by the People's Democratic Reform Committee, Nation News Agency reported.

Troops cast ballots in advance voting in Si Sa Ket

Troops manning the Thai-Cambodian border in Si Sa Ket cast their advance voting in the province in high number, Thai Rath reported.

No protesters blocked the advance voting station in the province, the paper said.
