The wife and I have decided to move back to the UK.

The two kids are both holders of British passports so no problem there, but obviously we will need to apply for a settlement visa for her.

Any recent applicants got any advice to share regarding this process?

I'm totally new to it so any advice regarding requirements, processing time etc very much appreciated.

She's had two visitor visas for holidays to the UK, the most recent of which was December/January just past.

I'm specifically interested to know what financial requirements I have to meet and what accommodation evidence has to be supplied. I don't own in the uk and we plan to rent for at least a year until we're sure the move is permanent.

Also any useful links to websites (government? Embassy) much appreciated.

I know the Info is out there and I've browsed other threads but I'm short of time and want to assimilate everything ASAP and fresh info is invaluable, so thanks In advance to anyone taking the time to post!

Massive decision, hope all goes well.

Plenty of information here http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/524561-uk-settlement-visa-basics/

And the Official sites here http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas-immigration/partners-families/citizens-settled/

and here http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/countries/thailand/visa/?langname=null

You are probably aware that there are financial requirements to be met.

Plenty of people have gone through it so stacks of info on here, come back if you have any specific questions.

Thanks "oldgit", getting my head round some of the threads now and have found the uk border agency pages.

£18600/annul seems to be the financial requirement for sponsor so no bother there.

Just need to work out what evidence of ability to accommodate I will have to arrange. Looking at getting a lease in place anyway.....
