Where can I do the following (outdoor hobbies) ?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I need a couple of advices from the Phuket experts on here.

Here is the thing: I'm located in Patong and I'd like to know where I could find the best and nearest place to do the following:

1. Snorkelling - So far, I've spotted a fun area at paradise beach and another one at kata noi beach. However I'd like to know where you like to go when you want to have a little beach / snorkeling session without taking a boat to the nearest islands wink.png Any suggestions ?

2. Crab hunting - Yeah I know: it sounds really childish but, eventhough im 30, I'm still enjoying flipping stones to find crabs and stuff like that. Anyway, I can't find any decent place to do that here in Phuket. Where would you go to walk along shores and look for marine life ?

3. Watching bigger sea creatures - Finding fishes to watch and swim with is not a real problem on the island. However I was wondering: can you find turtles ans other biggish animals somewhere in the area or will I have to hit the road to the islands -Phi Phi, Lanta, etc...)

Thanks ;)

My favorite snorkeling area is the northern end of Kata Beach, heading to Kho Phu.

Yaa Nui is good for snorkeling on the offshore side of that little island, lots of fish, no corral through

If you go to Khanom, you can swim with the pink dolphins there. (north of Nakon Si Tammerat)
Turtles on Phuket? They've built 5 star resorts where they used to lay their eggs, so, I doubt anyone will see them here again.

Okay ;) Thanks a lot guys for your views !

What a shame they're destroying their own country like that... I guess we weren't any better with our in the past.

Cheers !
