webfact Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Chalerm vows to reopen all besieged government offices February 6BANGKOK: -- Head of the Center for the Maintaining of Peace and Order (CMPO) Chalerm Yubamrung vowed to reopen all government offices forced to close by People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) protesters from Thursday February 6.Chalerm who is also caretaker Labour Minister, said protesters who obstruct the reopening of these offices, particularly PDRC leaders, would be arrested. But he assured that in making arrest, the CMPO would mainly rely on negotiations, not violence. He said the government needed to reopen those offices so that government officials could return to work to service the people. He also said the election yesterday was carried out under democratic rules. He said further that, since the number of MPs was still short of the required 475 of the total 500 seats in the House of Representatives, the House could not yet convene. He said it was the duty of the Election Commission to hold fresh elections within 180 days with promise that the CMPO was ready to provide help in terms of both police manpower and the delivery of ballots to troubled provinces should it is requested by the EC.Source: http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/chalerm-vows-reopen-besieged-government-offices-february-6/ -- Thai PBS 2014-02-03

ratcatcher Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Posted 2014-01-27 13:45:29 Chalerm tells protesters to leave govt offices in 72 hours or face arrests Posted 7 minutes ago . Feb 3 2014 Chalerm vows to reopen all besieged government offices February 6 Telling first, vowing second. 72 hours to get outta Dodge Suthep or you're dead meat!
Popular Post ramrod711 Posted February 3, 2014 Popular Post Posted February 3, 2014 Blah, blah, blah, Chalerm vows to have Thaksin back or cut off head, to stop violence in the south within 90 days, arrest Suthep within 72 hours and countless other things. I suppose it would be asking too much for him to quit drinking. This guy is such a buffoon, he thinks people are laughing with him not at him. 11
NongKhaiKid Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 So he's going to rely on negotiations with people whose motto has been ' never negotiate '. This is on a par with Tarit summoning people to the DSI on a date and at a time convenient to them usually around the 12th of never.
Popular Post Scamper Posted February 3, 2014 Popular Post Posted February 3, 2014 " He said it was the duty of the Election Commission to hold fresh elections within 180 days with promise that the CMPO was ready to provide help in terms of both police manpower and the delivery of ballots to troubled provinces should it is requested by the EC. " Isn't it wonderful that Chalerm's abilities to tell people what they should do has been undiminished by this massive cream pie to CMPO, in the form of an election that left large swaths of the country in electoral darkness ? By tacitly admitting that 475 seats were not achieved for a quorum ( even though he earlier stated that 265 to 280 would certainly go to Pheu Thai ! ) we have in fact, a parliament that is only 387 MPs filled ( assuming that none of them receive election infractions ) as fresh new elections for 113 constituencies need to be held, including provinces that were blacked out, ones that never opened, problems that beset many others, and constituencies with only one candidate. Chalerm needs to realize that yesterday was the easy part ! Getting all those constituencies to suddenly appear is going to be between challenging and near-impossible. If CMPO was responsible for the success of yesterday, today's assurances of future success seem hollow, as the administration is now reduced to setting deadlines for even the opening of government offices in Bangkok. The reference to 180 days is interesting, however, and one should not be the least bit surprised of it, as Pheu Thai quickly morphed from the necessity of the election, to it being a mere impediment. Why is it interesting ? Because they expect to govern - without a parliament, and without a mandate. Welcome to the world of Chalerm, where everything is possible. 3

No doubt he is trying to create an illusion 'it's all over',,, 'we won the election',,, 'now back to business as normal'. And he's deliberately not mentioning that they cannot form any sort of new and working parliament right now. He's wrong, it's not over until there is reform before elections.

A bottle of booze too. As always, the big talker is the little doer. This man never fails to make a complete fool out of himself. When PTP meets its demise, wonder what'll happen to him. Guaranteed to be funny, stay tuned. 1
winstonc Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 The only thing C can open would be his bowels, especially if confronted by anyone who stands up to him when he doesn't have his thug sons standing by. even our ptp friends on here must cringe when those lips seperate to reveal some utter <deleted> which is forthcoming...i love the man...hes their top crusader...i would love to share a bottle of merlot with him and pick his braincell.....
casindonet Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Hell yeah....I truly believe he can do it. It's Mr. Ear Medicine. He promise all offices will be reopen on Feb 6th.....one thing though, he fail to mention which year. Sent from my GT-I9200 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app 1
Basil B Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 "Will be arrested", how many time has he said that? and has anybody been arrested? Must have been at the "dutch courage" again... 1
gemini81 Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 "Will be arrested", how many time has he said that? As often as he gets the shakes and has to down another bottle to avoid a seizure of rehab (daily??!!!)
bigbamboo Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Why does he bother? Even the most rabid redshirt doesn't take any notice of the Running Man. Once the dust settles he'll be back at the Jobcentre. 1
Pib Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Somebody must have pulled the string on Chalerm's back again....and out came another vow to do something fantastic within a short time period...he's awesome...just ask him. 2
WhizBang Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Feb 6? What's wrong with starting TODAY? Oh, never mind, it's all just hot air anyway, especially if he plans to 'negotiate'.
Mister Fixit Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 But I thought the Emergency decree was only valid for 60 days and yet he's talking of taking action 180 days hence? Something he's not telling us?
american12bthai Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 when he speaks i tend to want to do the opposite. 1
Red Snake Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 The best thing he could do is just keep in big mouth shut and do it. No need to tell the protesters what you are going to do. As Nike Ad says "Just do it".
spirit47 Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 I think it's a false Chalerm. Yes, I wonder too, this one dont look drunken... 1
JesseFrank Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 I think it's a false Chalerm. Yes, I wonder too, this one dont look drunken... But it is clearly visible that the alcohol has done its damage, looks like he doesn't need to be beheaded as his head gonna explode soon. Almost looks like a balloon fish.
nickynomates Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 To be Fair on the way home this evening there were many Police trucks going into Bangkok on the tollway. First time i have seen this on this protest phase. Could be the start of planning a big push for them. Time will tell.
TallGuyJohninBKK Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 This from the same guy who, back on Jan. 27, gave the protesters a 3-day ultimatum to leave occupied government offices or face arrest by his "assault units." As best as I recall, no one's been arrested and no one's been assaulted by police units since then for occupying or obstructing government offices. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/699811-chalerm-tells-protesters-to-leave-govt-offices-in-72-hours-or-face-arrests/
lungmi Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 I like him. One of the best future tellers Thailand ever had. The opposite of his prognosis will happen. 1
Loles Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Let me see first! Is this n.178. or n.179 Chalerm's promise .... ?

First time i have seen this on this protest phase. Could be the start of planning a big push for them. Time will tell. About time if it is actually happening but will be quite surprised if the police do anything significant unless Sutheps backers have finally thrown him on the scrap heap.
klauskunkel Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Chalerm vows to reopen all besieged government offices February 6 Wow!...hic
bkkjames Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Chalerm vows to reopen all besieged government offices February 6 Wow!...hic If I was handling his PR, I would advise to make less specific statements to avoid painting oneself into corner. He could just say / said " vow to reopen......very soon, in the next little while." I seem to remember Feb 3 for Government Complex...the day after the election. Maybe he is just being crafty with false flags to keep them guessing.
